1.0 ABOUT THE PROGRAM
1.1 Overview of the Program
The Motse Wa Badiri Training Attachment Programme is a structured and
monitored work experience for learners under Learning and Living for Work
Certificate which enables them to gain on the-the-job training that ultimately
integrates education, career development and public service. It seeks to prepare
learners with disability to become reflective employees, and effective professionals
and integrate technology into their learning practices. It is an integral part of a
learner’s portfolio and provides the most significant opportunity to apply his/her
new knowledge, skills and dispositions under the guidance of experienced
professionals from the institution. Attachment is MWBT is designed to expose
learners to career fields, entire industries, and to provide broadly defined
workplace skills relevant across many jobs. They are also designed to show learners
the relevance of academic skills, which are increasingly important in most
workplaces.
It is anticipated that learners will integrate, apply, and refine those competencies
that will help them evolve into an independent community member able to function
in a variety of settings. Learners are expected to demonstrate competencies in the
following areas: interpersonal relations, organization, self-monitoring,
communication skills, content knowledge, and ability to follow instructions.
It is expected that having gone through the attachment programme and completed
the whole training, the learners will have positive work ethics and attitude that
would enable them achieve their long term career goals.
1.2 Objectives of Attachment Programme
-Create opportunities for learners to gain lifelong skills and work experience.
-To enable the learners to develop work ethics like self-reliance, maturity
and good self esteem.
-Gives trainees the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a
professional setting while still in school.
-To offer a carefully planned and monitored work experience with the aim
being to gain additional knowledge from on the job exposure.

3.0 COORDINATION AND MANAGEMENT OF PROGRAM
3.1Responsibilities of Motse Wa Badiri Training
Motse Wa Badiri Attachment Coordinator Duties & Roles:
-Offers proper pre training and orientation to host organization on how to
work with attachees with disability on attachment.
-Properly assesses all learners to fit the learner into the right attachment for
their abilities and future goals.
-Orientate and support the attachee to adapt to the host organization’s
setting, culture and mode of operation
-Coordinate and monitor the attachee, provide guidance and direction to the
host organization on attachee supervision.
-Provide and monitor the welfare of the attachees throughout the attachment
period.
-Serves as liaison between the host organization and the attachees,
communication with the attachee shall be through the supervisor not
directly to the attachee.
- Observes and monitor the attachee a minimum of three times to solicit
feedback for programme review.
-Maintains regular contact with the host organization, and the attachee
throughout the attachment.
3.2Responsibilities of Host Organization
The Host Organization Duties & Roles:
-Provide on the job induction on organizational rules and regulations.
-Provide the attachee with appropriate protective clothing and or
tools/equipment required to undertake their duties.
-Assign the relevant authority to provide supervision to the attachee and to
provide supportive environment and administrative instructions
throughout the attachment period.
-Official communication shall be channeled through the supervisor not the
attachee.

-Develop work plan together with the attachee and agree on the deliverables
and conduct monthly assessments.
-Monitor the maintenance of attendance register, assessment forms during
monthly meetings and provide feedback accordingly.
-Do by all means to provide a ready, cohesive suitable learning environment
for the disabled attachee.
- Expected to produce evaluation and exit report at the completion of the
attachment programme.
3.3 Responsibilities of Attachee
The Attachees Duties & Roles:
-The attachee’s are expected to conduct themselves in line with, and in
adherence to the established rules and regulations of the host organization
-Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and rules governing professional
behavior.
-Be punctual, and work the required number of hours at times agreed to by
the attachee and their supervisor.
-Notify their supervisor if they are unable to attend as planned.
-Behave and dress appropriately to the particular workplace.
-Respect and maintain the confidentiality of the workplace, its clients and its
employees.
-Discuss any problems relating to his or her duties with their supervisor and
the supervisor shall deal with the matter or , if necessary, with the

3.0 DURATION
The attachment is anticipated to run for 9 weeks and includes an introductory visit
and a minimum of 3 observations and monitoring from the attachment Coordinator.
However, the number of visits may vary depending on the individual needs of the
learner and the host agency. The attachee’s will formally exit the programme until
they have attained the period of 9 weeks.
