Hello!
The following document passionately provides a little insight in how I would
potentially approach User Experience design & User Interface design for a
project.
Though it takes much more time to research and design a good product that
people love to use, I have tried my best to present the process behind my
work.
Regards,

Let’s get to the good stuff.
As I have not worked on any projects related to kids, it was a challenging task for me. As soon as
I got the assingment, I quickly went on full research mode to know how design for kids work.
Smashing magazine is my go to referral zone. I found that kids love colors, use buttons with
depth instead of text links, and much more which I will refer in the following pages.
An app is good when it actually solves a problem.
On a snowy Paris evening in 2008, Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp had trouble hailing a cab. So
they came up with a simple idea—tap a button, get a ride [1]
. I also took upon myself if I was a
parent & I wanted my kids to learn about money saving, what kind of application I would like to
have for my kids so that they learn & have fun along the way with my minimal intervention .
The following pages show how I do what I do.

Market Analysis
Youtube Kids
This project is done by one of the top Design
agencies in the world “Hello Monday”.
I liked the branding & illustrations a lot. I noticed
how all the elements were much bigger than
usual size.
I also loved the use of mascot to give a
personality to the app.

Context of UX
“Kids Money” is an easy, fun to use & reward based ATM.
Nita’s parents wanted their kids to learn the importance of money from an early age. They
wanted a new modern version of piggy bank for kids which helps in creating a habit to save
money and also be able to withdraw money in need.
During their search, they came acroos Kids Money ATM system for kids. They were surprised to
know that they can have their own ATM and take home.

Use case
A use case represents the actions that are required to enable or abandon a goal. A use case has
multiple “paths” that can be taken by any user at any one time. A use case scenario is a single
path through the use case.[3]
In this project I generated use cases with “How might we” questions.
1. How might we make the app easily usable by kids?
2. How might we make the experience more fun?
3. How might we reward kids for good behaviour? (Kids love surprises.)

Use case scenario #1
As a user I am greeted with a
landing screen where there are clear
symbolic instructions how to get
started.
Kids learn through symbols and
illustrations a lot.

Use case scenario #2
As a user, I want easily access to
action buttons to do important
tasks.
Instead of using general terms for
buttons, every day language terms
can be used like “Put in Money”
instead of “Deposit”

Use case scenario #6
As a user I want to check my
balance.
To make it Reward based system,
ATM is gamified. Every good
behaviour yields points. Points help
in leveling up. Clearing each level
has a surprise rewards likes McD
happy meal coupons etc.

Branding
In order to give a personality to the app, I decided to create a mascot for the app. He is cute &
lovable. His name is SeeSee. He welcomes user, greets them, gives tips and does lots of stuff.

Color Scheme
Tridip Thrizu | tridip1931@gmail.com | 9130463772
Kids love colors[4]
. So I have decided to go with strong colors but also signify something. Like
withdraw screen has red bg color while deposit screen has green.
