- #3 2. Facts in brief Our industrial customers are active in a wide range of businesses in more than 180 countries. We have our own customer centers and service operations in over 70 countries. In 2018, revenues reached 95 billion Swedish kronor/ approx. 9 billion Euro and the operating margin was 22.2%. Atlas Copco is a 146-year-old company which is very young at heart and with a highly innovative spirit. We are close to 37 000 employees and we are known for our great people, our quality products and service and our strong focus on business ethics. The Compressor Technique business area has more than XX thousand employees. The Compressor Technique Business Area had a turnover of approx. 4 Billion Euro with an operating profit margin of 23.3%.

Organizational structure Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area provides industrial compressors, vacuum solutions, gas and process compressors and expanders, air and gas treatment equipment and air management systems. The business area has a global service network and innovates for sustainable productivity in the manufacturing, oil and gas, and process industries. Compressor Technique Service provides a complete range of aftermarket services with the aim to maximize customers’ productivity. The division focuses on spare parts supply, professional service, air monitoring and connectivity solutions. Industrial Air develops, manufactures and markets oil-injected and oil-free air compressors, on-site nitrogen and oxygen generators, air treatment solutions and compressor controls and monitoring under several brands. In addition to serving a wide variety of industries, dedicated solutions are also available for marine, railway and oil and gas customers. Oil-free Air develops, manufactures, and markets worldwide oil-free and oil-injected air and gas compressors combined with air and gas treatment systems. Vacuum Solutions develops, manufactures and markets vacuum pumps, abatement systems, valves and related service products under the Edwards and Atlas Copco brands. The main market segments served are: semiconductor, flat panel display, solar, scientific and general vacuum. Gas and Process develops and manufactures turbo compressors, expansion turbines and cryogenic pumps for the gas and process industry, offering a matching range of aftermarket products. Atlas Copco Gas and Process solutions are used primarily in oil and gas and chemical/petrochemical processes, power generation, renewable energy, and in the air separation sector. Medical Gas Solutions develops, manufactures and markets medical gas equipment, including medical air and vacuum plants, manifolds and pipeline components with related services and filters. Products are offered under several brands, mainly to the global health care sector. Airtec develops and manufactures compressor elements and core parts exclusively for use Atlas Copco’s oil-free and oil-injected screw compressors, tooth and turbo compressors. Professional Air develops and manufactures low-power piston compressors and markets and services compressors and air treatment equipment for a wide range of customers, especially the professional and craftsman segments, under the FIAC, BALMA and ABAC brands.

Some of our more than 25 brands are global, but the majority serve geographically limited regions.

Product offering Compressor Technique provides gas and process compressors, expanders, air and gas treatment equipment as well as air management systems and service for industrial applications. Through Edwards , we offer sophisticated vacuum products, abatement solutions and related value-added services. These products are integral to manufacturing processes for semiconductors, flat panel displays, LEDs and solar cells; are used within an increasingly diverse range of industrial processes including power, glass and other coating applications, steel and other metallurgy, pharmaceutical and chemical; and for both scientific instruments and a wide range of R&D applications.

Service offering Our Service offering to our customers ranges from the simple supply of Genuine Parts and Lubricants for their own maintenance needs, to a complete Service Plan where well trained and efficient Atlas Copco service technicians take care of all service needs during the life time of the product. Our energy consultants offer comprehensive energy audits of the complete compressed air installation and identify areas for improvement. By installing different optimization products we can reduce the total operating cost of the compressed air installation. Continuous monitoring of the operating parameters allow us to response to any deviation from the optimal running conditions.
- #10 9. Global Service Support We know that customer loyalty is created through professional reliable service. About one third of our employees work in service. We have local presence – globally. Our service organization supports customers day and night with maintenance, parts and repair. Many customers have selected to sign service contracts with us in order to safeguard continuous uptime. Atlas Copco’s objective is to put our customers ahead of their competition. We want them to be the most productive, most cost effective, most energy efficient and the safest.
