SOLAR SYSTEM
Sun is the centre of our solar system
There are eight planets revolving around the
sun in fixed orbits
Meet our Planets…
o Mercury
o Venus
o Earth
o Mars
o Jupiter
o Saturn
o Uranus
o Neptune
We are
Terrestrial planets..!!!
o Terrestrial planets
have solid surface.
o Their densities are
high
o They lie more closer
to the sun
o They have only few
satellites.
Earth
WE ARE
JOVIAN PLANETS……
 Jovian planets are
giant gaseous
planets.
 We can see rings
around them.
 These planets have
many satellites.
NEPTUNE
SATURN
JUPITER
URANUS
ASTROIDS..!!!
OCCUPIES THE ORBIT BETWEEN
MARS & JUPITER.
CERS, PALLS, JUNO VESTA etc. ARE
ASTROIDS.
COMETS…..
Comets
Comets revolve around the
sun in elliptical orbits.
Consist of condensed gas.
e.g.: Halley's comet
METEORS
Meteors
 Meteors are the small parts of
asteroids separated from their
orbits and remnants of exploded
comets that plunge down to the
earth.
 Meteors mostly flare up and
evaporate once they are inside the
atmosphere
