The Institute of Medicine challenged organizations to implement evidence-based performance improvement strategies in order to improve patient quality and safety. Multiple governmental and regulatory agencies, such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (AHRQ), vowed to strengthen and improve incentives for participation, safety, quality, and efficiency in accountable care organizations (ACOs).
Health information technology (HIT) performs an essential role in improving health outcomes of individuals, the community, and populations. Health organizations, consumer advocacy groups, and regulatory committees have made a commitment to explore current and future opportunities that HIT offers to continue momentum to meet the Institute of Medicine's goal of improving safety and quality.
Understanding HIT is important to improving individual, community, and population access to health care and health information. HIT enables quick and easy access to information for both patients and providers. Accessible information has been shown to improve the patient care experience and reduce redundancies, thereby reducing health care costs.
This assessment provides an opportunity for you to make recommendations for expanding a hospital's HIT in ways that will help the hospital qualify as an ACO.

Some of the issues may include management issues or conflicts that influence the operation of healthcare systems. The administrative feature like politics and conflict of interest may facilitate negative implications to the healthcare system. These organizational and administrative issues may affect the healthcare system from the national levels, regional and local. When poor policies are developed by management, the entire system may be affected significantly.
Problem Analysis/Literature Review: According to Fanjiang et al. (2005), organizational issues like technology and other frameworks of management significantly affects the quality of health care delivery to the patient. Additionally, this may lead to poor reputation of the organization services provision and cause the entire system to experience failures in the long-run. On the other hand, Donev, Kovacic, & Laaser (2004), provides that organizational and administrative issues can be largely managed or resolved when there is more inclusivity of the shareholder, community, and other involved parties. This is evidence as lack of inclusivity may lead to conflict of interest and poor decision-making processes. Siegrist et al. (2010) provide that work-related stress among physicians, which is linked to administrative issues has been an issue of growing concern in recent years. Background: Health information technology (HIT) has been introduced into the health care industry since the 1960s when mainframes assisted with financial transactions, but questions remained about HIT's contribution to medical outcomes. Several systematic reviews since the 1990s have focused on this relationship. This review updates the literature.
Objective: The purpose of this review was to analyze the current literature for the impact of HIT on medical outcomes. We hypothesized that there is a positive association between the adoption of HIT and medical outcomes.
Methods: We queried the Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) by PubMed databases for peer-reviewed publications in the last 5 years that defined an HIT intervention and an effect on medical outcomes in terms of efficiency or effectiveness. We structured the review from the Primary Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA), and we conducted the review in accordance with the Assessment for Multiple Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR).
Results: We narrowed our search from 3636 papers to 37 for final analysis. At least one improved medical outcome as a result of HIT adoption was identified in 81% (25/37) of research studies that met inclusion criteria, thus strongly supporting our hypothesis. No statistical difference in outcomes was identified as a result of HIT in 19% of included studies. Twelve categories of HIT and three categories of outcomes occurred 38 and 65 times, respectively.
Conclusions: A strong majority of the literature shows positive effects of HIT on the effectiveness of medical outcomes, which positively supports efforts that prepare for stage 3 of meaningful use. This aligns with previous reviews in other time frames.

Your analysis begins with a generic description of the problems associated with intangibility. Remember that this assignment is about the application of theory rather than description. The remainder of your analysis highlights some of the issues in the case study. However, there is no application of theory. You could have used any one of a number of frameworks to frame your analysis and give it greater depth: Servuction model, Flower of Service, Gaps model, etc. Furthermore, I would like to see you explain the reasons for these problems. In this case study, the lack of service culture is a significant issue.
With regard to recommendations, it would again be better if you approach the task in a more systematic way rather than making random suggestions with no indication as to which problems these activities will resolve. For example, are testimonials a priority? Given that the service being offered is poor, there may not be many customers with anything positive to say. Wouldn’t it be better to fix underlying issues first? You recommend personal selling and communications but there is a lack of detail and no explanation as to what problems these activities would address. You recommend that the company needs to act on the feedback it receives (page 6), but you do not say how. Similarly, recommendations like personalised service might be relevant but you do not say what this means in practice.
Overall, there is a lack of application of theory to this response. You need to look back over the lecture slides and use appropriate models to frame your analysis and recommendations. While what you write is sound, it does not directly address the case study. There is insufficient detail.

Background: Health information technology (HIT) has been introduced into the health care industry since the 1960s when mainframes assisted with financial transactions, but questions remained about HIT's contribution to medical outcomes. Several systematic reviews since the 1990s have focused on this relationship. This review updates the literature.
Objective: The purpose of this review was to analyze the current literature for the impact of HIT on medical outcomes. We hypothesized that there is a positive association between the adoption of HIT and medical outcomes.
Methods: We queried the Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) by PubMed databases for peer-reviewed publications in the last 5 years that defined an HIT intervention and an effect on medical outcomes in terms of efficiency or effectiveness. We structured the review from the Primary Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA), and we conducted the review in accordance with the Assessment for Multiple Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR).
Results: We narrowed our search from 3636 papers to 37 for final analysis. At least one improved medical outcome as a result of HIT adoption was identified in 81% (25/37) of research studies that met inclusion criteria, thus strongly supporting our hypothesis. No statistical difference in outcomes was identified as a result of HIT in 19% of included studies. Twelve categories of HIT and three categories of outcomes occurred 38 and 65 times, respectively.
Conclusions: A strong majority of the literature shows positive effects of HIT on the effectiveness of medical outcomes, which positively supports efforts that prepare for stage 3 of meaningful use. This aligns with previous reviews in other time frames.

Your introduction is not terribly relevant. You would do better to keep it simple and signpost the reader.
Your analysis begins with a generic description of the problems associated with intangibility. Remember that this assignment is about the application of theory rather than description. The remainder of your analysis highlights some of the issues in the case study. However, there is no application of theory. You could have used any one of a number of frameworks to frame your analysis and give it greater depth: Servuction model, Flower of Service, Gaps model, etc. Furthermore, I would like to see you explain the reasons for these problems. In this case study, the lack of service culture is a significant issue.
With regard to recommendations, it would again be better if you approach the task in a more systematic way rather than making random suggestions with no indication as to which problems these activities will resolve. For example, are testimonials a priority? Given that the service being offered is poor, there may not be many customers with anything positive to say. Wouldn’t it be better to fix underlying issues first? You recommend personal selling and communications but there is a lack of detail and no explanation as to what problems these activities would address. You recommend that the company needs to act on the feedback it receives (page 6), but you do not say how. Similarly, recommendations like personalised service might be relevant but you do not say what this means in practice.
Overall, there is a lack of application of theory to this response. You need to look back over the lecture slides and use appropriate models to frame your analysis and recommendations. While what you write is sound, it does not directly address the case study. There is insufficient detail.

Several groups lashed out at Bic, calling their attempt to target women with "lady pens" sexist and demeaning. Its detractors felt the campaign was degrading and fed into stereotypes by highlighting the thin design and the use of pastel colors. The negative press was overwhelming, although the pens have remained on the market.
Consumers also targeted those responsible for marketing the Easy Bake Oven by sending a petition asking its parent company Hasbro to make the ovens in colors other than pink and purple. Thousands of individuals signed the petition asking for alternative oven colors after a teenage girl from New Jersey was angered that her younger brother would have no other option but to use an oven in the colors that are considered stereotypically female. It was argued that the colors supported the stereotypical view that only young girls would want to bake. The signers of the petition felt that young boys who might want to use the toy would be more likely to practice their baking skills if the color of the oven was gender neutral.
