Use the Sun Coast Remediation data set to conduct a correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis using the correlation tab, simple regression tab, and multiple regression tab respectively. Example:
The Pearson correlation coefficient of r = .600 indicates a moderately strong positive correlation. This equates to an r2 of .36, explaining 36% of the variance between the variables.
Using an alpha of .05, the results indicate a p value of .023 < .05. Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted that there is a statistically significant relationship between height and weight.
Note: Excel data analysis Toolpak does not automatically calculate the p value when using the correlation function. As a workaround, the data should also be run using the regression function. The Multiple R is identical to the Pearson r in simple regression, R Square is shown, and the p value is generated. Be sure to show your results using both the correlation function and simple regression function.

Introduction
Focus
The aim of the study was to investigate if genetic tests might predict criminal conduct utilizing GPSs, which help predict hereditary illness risks and mental problems. The researchers start their investigation by saying that low academic achievement and truancy are indicators of antisocial conduct and may lead to criminal behavior. They get to come up with different ways of how one can end up engaging in crime activities which may end up leading them in trouble. It is evident that most of the crime taking place in the society is caused by some underlying factors. It is in this case where by the research seeks to unfold some of these factors that causes someone to engage in crime activities within the society. The best thing is to come up with different ways on how one can get to understand how academic can get to impact one into engaging in criminal activities. Th study will focus much in this area and come up with factors that makes one to engage in most of these activities.
Population
The study included two cohorts, as outlined in the paper. The first group evaluated environmental risk (E-risk), consisting of E-Risk Longitudinal Twin Study participants. The research comprised of 1,116 households with twins aged 5 years. Between 1999 and 2000, all the families lived in England or Wales, which was the course of the research. 56% of the twins were the same and the sex was even (49 percent male). There has been different socioeconomic status: 25.3% of families live in affluent suburbs, 5.3% in more urban locations, 13.4% in intermediate neighbourhoods and 20.7% in poor regions.
Research Questions
The study was performed by J. Wertz et al. to investigate whether genetic testing and GPSs might provide young children insights about their psyche. The hypothesis established at the beginning of the study was that polygenes that help to create phenotypes are indications of a criminal crime and therefore polygenic influences to educational achievement. The law enforcement together with the teachers have the mandate and role of ensuring that they raise better children who will not use their education to engage in any form of crime.

I was born and raised in China which makes Race and ethnicity has not influenced me that much. I have not considered any of these problems before I came to the states. From what I heard, racial discrimination is common especially in the United States. People make their decisions not on one’s achievement but on their racial group. For our Asian especially Chinese, the situation of model minority is around us in many ways.
After I finished my freshman year, I was looking for a job on campus, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do until my math professor found me. When I took her class, I basically knew all the stuff because those were what I have learned when I was in grade 9 in China. When I took a nap on her class, she ignored me because she knew I knew all of those without learning. I became the math tutor without a doubt. When I was trying to help students out, a lot of student were asking me some questions like “how did you know that without using the calculator?” or “I heard all Chinese are good at math, is that true?”. After I learned the lecture from class, I realized that belongs to model minority.

Overview:
Lab 2 introduces you to the nuts and bolts of another classic experimental psychology paradigm, the Stroop effect. Data collection will occur on the computers. Each student will complete a 20-30 minute Stroop experiment. The data will be analyzed and reported in a full APA style research report.
The main goal of this experiment is provide a concrete example of a 2x2 Factorial Design. As well, we will learn to relate theory and data.You will be taught about the horse-race model of Stroop, and you will use this model to predict the data from the class experiment.
The class experiment has two goals. First, to replicate the Stroop effect. Second, to test a manipulation that will reduce the size of the Stroop effect. In this case, the manipulation will be task. For half of the trials, you will identify the color, and for the other half of the trials you will identify the word.
In your research paper you will be required to introduce the Stroop effect, and explain the horse race model. You will explain how the horse race model can be used to predict which task will lead to the largest Stroop effect. You will describe the methods and results. The results will be reported in a figure or table (your choice).

A group of researchers conducted an experiment to determine which vaccine is more effective for preventing getting the flu. They tested two different types of vaccines: a shot and a nasal spray. To test the effectiveness, 1000 participants were randomly selected with 500 people getting the shot and 500 the nasal spray. Of the 500 people were treated with the shot, 80 developed the flu and 420 did not. Of the people who were treated with the nasal spray, 120 people developed the flu and 380 did not. The level of significance was set at .05. The proportion of people who were treated with the shot who developed the flu = .16, and the proportion of the people who were treated with the nasal spray was .24. The calculated p value = .0008.

Correlational Study
There are three types of correlations: positive, negative, and no correlation. A positive correlation means that as one variable increases, the other also increases. A negative correlation means that as one variable increases, the other decreases. No correlation means the variables are unrelated and do not influence each other. While correlation does not prove causation, it can suggest relationships between variables and be used for prediction. Limitations of correlational research include the inability to determine cause and effect from the data.

The aim of the study was to investigate if genetic tests might predict criminal conduct utilizing GPSs, which help predict hereditary illness risks and mental problems. The researchers start their investigation by saying that low academic achievement and truancy are indicators of antisocial conduct and may lead to criminal behavior. They get to come up with different ways of how one can end up engaging in crime activities which may end up leading them in trouble. It is evident that most of the crime taking place in the society is caused by some underlying factors. It is in this case where by the research seeks to unfold some of these factors that causes someone to engage in crime activities within the society. The best thing is to come up with different ways on how one can get to understand how academic can get to impact one into engaging in criminal activities. Th study will focus much in this area and come up with factors that makes one to engage in most of these activities.
Population
The study included two cohorts, as outlined in the paper. The first group evaluated environmental risk (E-risk), consisting of E-Risk Longitudinal Twin Study participants. The research comprised of 1,116 households with twins aged 5 years. Between 1999 and 2000, all the families lived in England or Wales, which was the course of the research. 56% of the twins were the same and the sex was even (49 percent male). There has been different socioeconomic status: 25.3% of families live in affluent suburbs, 5.3% in more urban locations, 13.4% in intermediate neighbourhoods and 20.7% in poor regions.
Research Questions
The study was performed by J. Wertz et al. to investigate whether genetic testing and GPSs might provide young children insights about their psyche. The hypothesis established at the beginning of the study was that polygenes that help to create phenotypes are indications of a criminal crime and therefore polygenic influences to educational achievement. The law enforcement together with the teachers have the mandate and role of ensuring that they raise better children who will not use their education to engage in any form of crime.

I was born and raised in China which makes Race and ethnicity has not influenced me that much. I have not considered any of these problems before I came to the states. From what I heard, racial discrimination is common especially in the United States. People make their decisions not on one’s achievement but on their racial group. For our Asian especially Chinese, the situation of model minority is around us in many ways.
After I finished my freshman year, I was looking for a job on campus, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do until my math professor found me. When I took her class, I basically knew all the stuff because those were what I have learned when I was in grade 9 in China. When I took a nap on her class, she ignored me because she knew I knew all of those without learning. I became the math tutor without a doubt. When I was trying to help students out, a lot of student were asking me some questions like “how did you know that without using the calculator?” or “I heard all Chinese are good at math, is that true?”. After I learned the lecture from class, I realized that belongs to model minority.

Overview:
Lab 2 introduces you to the nuts and bolts of another classic experimental psychology paradigm, the Stroop effect. Data collection will occur on the computers. Each student will complete a 20-30 minute Stroop experiment. The data will be analyzed and reported in a full APA style research report.
The main goal of this experiment is provide a concrete example of a 2x2 Factorial Design. As well, we will learn to relate theory and data.You will be taught about the horse-race model of Stroop, and you will use this model to predict the data from the class experiment.
The class experiment has two goals. First, to replicate the Stroop effect. Second, to test a manipulation that will reduce the size of the Stroop effect. In this case, the manipulation will be task. For half of the trials, you will identify the color, and for the other half of the trials you will identify the word.
In your research paper you will be required to introduce the Stroop effect, and explain the horse race model. You will explain how the horse race model can be used to predict which task will lead to the largest Stroop effect. You will describe the methods and results. The results will be reported in a figure or table (your choice).

There are three essay questions in this section. You must answer all three questions. The length of each essay should be one to two double-spaced pages (excluding title and reference pages). A group of researchers conducted an experiment to determine which vaccine is more effective for preventing getting the flu. They tested two different types of vaccines: a shot and a nasal spray. To test the effectiveness, 1000 participants were randomly selected with 500 people getting the shot and 500 the nasal spray. Of the 500 people were treated with the shot, 80 developed the flu and 420 did not. Of the people who were treated with the nasal spray, 120 people developed the flu and 380 did not. The level of significance was set at .05. The proportion of people who were treated with the shot who developed the flu = .16, and the proportion of the people who were treated with the nasal spray was .24. The calculated p value = .0008.

Interpret the statistical results and examine the limitations of the statistical methods. Billion Dollar Business, Barbara Corcoran demonstrates the importance of knowing what
you really want out of life (Corcoran & Littlefield, 2011). As her title suggests, Barbara
founded her real estate company, The Corcoran Group, with only $1,000 and some big
dreams. Shortly after founding the company, Barbara took out a piece of paper and wrote
down some big goals for herself and the company. In 1978, she had only 14 sales agents
working for her, who earned a total of $250,000 in commissions. She set a goal of
doubling the number of agents and the commissions every year. So she put down 28 sales
people for 1979, 56 for 1980, and so on, all the way up to 1,792 salespeople in 1985 with
total commissions of $32,000,000. Barbara was amazed when she saw the fantastic sums
projected for 1985, and of course many people, when they see such amazing sums, would
dismiss the calculations as fantasy But as Barbara put it, she went to work the next day
hustling hard for her $32 million.
Real estate agents are paid largely by commission, which is about as close as you
can get to a pure form of contingent reward for performance. However, Barbara didn’t
rely solely on the commissions to motivate her workers. She threw theme parties and held
numerous social events to build a committed workforce. Good sales agents could always
move to another firm, but not every firm had Barbara’s positive attitude and fun-filled
atmosphere. In the early years of the firm, when money was tight, Barbara and her
relatives did the cooking for the outings and parties, and she found clever ways to
entertain people with skating parties and other lively activities. As the firm became larger
and more profitable, she even hired professional entertainers for the company’s midweek
picnics, which included elephant shows, daring rides on hot air balloons, horses, or
Harley Davidsons, etc. Barbara stated “I built my company on pure fun, and believe that
fun is the most underutilized motivational tool in business today. All of my best ideas
came when I was playing outside the office with the people I worked with” (Corcoran &
Littlefield, 2011, p. 283). What did she get in return for the fun atmosphere? She had the
“most profitable real estate company per person in the United States” (p. 284). By the
time she sold her agency in 2001, she had 1,000 agents working for her, and she had the
largest real estate agency in New York – clearly her motivational strategies attracted a
large number of productive employees.

The therapeutic relationship between patient and nurse is often filled with barriers that can generate obstacles for the relationship and, in the end, the health system as a whole (Sfoggia et al.,2014). There are many factors that hinder building a therapeutic relationship: language, professional jargon, communication impairment, and cultural diversity (ibid).
Language:
Language can be an obstacle to nurse-patient communication because a patient may not be able to speak the same language and therefore communication is not possible (Levin,2006). The best way to overcome this barrier is providing a translator who can explain a professional facilitator's message easily to the patient(ibid). For instance, if the nurse only speaks English but the patient is only able to speak Arabic, a translation to the patient of what the professional facilitator is saying leads to less chance of misunderstanding (ibid). Translation also allows a patient to feel comfortable through being able to speak in their own language (ibid).
Medical jargon:
Jargon is a technical language that is comprehended by people in a specific industry or area of work (Leblanc et al.,2014). Health professionals often use jargon to communicate with each other(ibid). For example, T.B. disease stands for tubercle bacillus and HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus (Mccrary & Christensen,1993). Jargon often makes sense to health professionals but a patient who does not understand these acronyms will not understand such communication, leading to a barrier in therapeutic relationship between patient and health professional (Leblanc et al.,2014).
Communication impairment:
Patients with communication impairment such as blindness, deafness and speech impairment often feel isolated, frustrated and self-conscious (O’Halloran et al.,2009). Some patients are born with such disabilities or have developed them as a result of disease (ibid). Therefore, nurses should provide enough time in order to describe any issue to such patients so that they do not feel uncomfortable or censured by health professionals, who must remain impartial (ibid).
Cultural diversity:
Patients often have various differences (Leblanc et al.,2014).Some of these differences are due to a patient's illness, social status, economic class, education and personality(ibid). However, according to Kirkham (1998), the deepest differences might be cultural diversity. Beheri (2009) points out that many nurses believe if they just treat patients with respect, they will avoid most cultural issues. Nevertheless, avoiding misunderstanding can be achieved through some knowledge of cultural customs, which might help and enable nurses to provide better health care to patients (ibid).

Critical Analysis of the religious nature of Buddhism
The religious community often debates on whether Buddhism is categorized as a religion or as philosophical teaching. The answer to the question varies depending on an individual’s point of view. There are three main types of Buddhism practices across the world with each of them having smaller branches with slights variances in their teachings and beliefs. The different styles of Buddhist mainly encompass Theravada Buddhism, Vajrayana Buddhism, and Mahayana Buddhism. The various forms often have deities that are worshipped while others do not. Some often have scriptures while others do not usually believe in any physical form of the Buddhist teachings. The first article is authored by Rachel, a blogger, presenting the argument that Buddhism is a religion (Rachel, 1). On the other hand, the second article authored by Pamela Winfield recognizes Buddhism as a philosophy. Analyzing and comparing the two pieces having divergent views on the religious nature of Buddhism is crucial for understanding whether it is a religion or philosophy.
Summary of the articles
Rachel in her article considers Buddhism as a religion. The author acknowledges the fact that Mahayana Buddhism which is often found in greater part of Asia that includes Japan, Korea, and China often teaches on attaining enlightenment (Rachel, 1). The Mahayana often accept that every individual wishes to ensure the effective attainment of enlightenment and thus end the cycle of rebirth which others recognize as “Karma.” The article proceeds to state that Buddha is the greatest of the deities but is not worshipped. Instead, Buddha often inspires all those who practice doing as he once did. The author states that Buddhism often requires that the individuals that choose the wrong path attempt to re-accomplish these tasks in their next life alongside other punishments imposed on them by karma. The characteristics of this type of Buddhism thus often play a significant role in showing the religious nature of Buddhism. The author concludes by stating that Buddhism often contains all the different elements of a religion. Moreover, the article associates Buddhism with fallacies that characterize other religions and just as dangerous as other religions as well. A quote proves the claim on the dangerous nature of Buddhism that the author uses to summarize the teachings of Buddhism.

- 5. We want to check how the age and different levels of music affects the musical tastes or liking to the music. For this we have two categories of age that is less than 40 years and more than 40 years and three categories of different music that are Fugazi, Abba and Barf Grooks. Basically we want to check whether these variables affect the liking of music and if yes then how they are going to affect the liking of music. Three Hypotheses can be tested simultaneously with two way analysis of variance. Statistical Assumption of the test: 1. The data should be collected by random sampling. 2. The sample should be independent from each other. 3. The data should be continuous or we can say that the data should be either interval level or ratio level for t test. Using the data set you have selected, select independent and dependent variables. Here we have Independent Variables: Age, Music Dependent Variable: Liking Develop the null and the alternative hypotheses. First hypothesis: Null Hypothesis (Ho1): All the age groups have equal music liking on the average or we can say that there is no significant difference in liking music due to age factor. Alternative Hypothesis (Ha1): All the age groups are not equal music liking on the average or we can say that there is a significant difference in liking music due to age factor. Profile Plots From the above analysis and results we can conclude that the assumptions of the models are satisfied because the Levene's Test of Equality of Error Variances has P-value 0.322 which is more than the level of significance, so we can say that the population variances are equal. Also the data is normally distributed and sample is randomly drawn. So we can conclude that 1) All the age groups have equal music liking on the average or we can say that there is no significant difference in liking music due to age factor because P-value corresponding to this variable is 0.966 which is very high. 2) All the music groups are not equal music liking on the average or we can say that there is a significant difference in liking music due to music factor because the P-value corresponding to this is 0.000. 3) There is a significant interaction between two main factors
- 19. that is age and music because the P-value corresponding to this is 0.000. Partial η2 (Partial eta-squared): Partial eta-squared describes the "proportion of total variation attributable to the factor, partialling out (excluding) other factors from the total nonerror variation" Here the value of R-Square is .923 which means that 92.3% of the variation is explained by these factors. So it means we have obtained the power more than 80% for this analysis. Also, the post hoc test shows that Fugazi and Abba has a significant difference on the liking of music and also the Abba and Barf Brooks has a significant difference on the liking of music at 5% level of significance. The profile plots show that Abba has a high liking of music as compare to other two. Also, the most important results are that the Abba is liked by all age groups does not matter whether they are less than or equal to 40 years or whether they are more than 40 years.
