Program goals Places were computers are one for every 5,000 people Foster education Bring education and science into the third world Foster communication and contact with the outside world Eliminate poverty worldwide by educating the third world?
Current participants As of yet 15 nations have signed onto the program, including the United States Nigeria ordered over a million laptops Libya ordered over 1.2 million laptops

Why not introduce this laptop into current school boards in the western world? But..Why stop at the third world, why not start introducing this laptop into the first world? We May be able to eliminate paper textbooks as the form of education!

What can we do to help this program? The OLPC program has started offering laptops for commercial sale Two laptops must be purchased with one going to the third world and one going to the consumer The price of the laptop is it about 200 a piece with the goal of 100 per laptop estimate to be reached in 2008
Movement into the ultimate cyber age? In the 80’s it was a dream that everybody would have a computer in their house with internet access Now that is a reality... Can we move into a cyber age where the textbook worldwide is replaced by a laptop, that is as dynamic as anything ever seen before?
