• Before You Enter the Store: The Store draws me
in, probably, because of the less crowd and wide variety
of different colors that you can see from the distance. The
stores don’t have any doors; feels like you can enter the
store from all directions. It makes me feel light, white, and
colorful and happy. The signage looks like some
Japanese characters from far symbolizing their country’s
image, however from near you can see the font clearly.
Each alphabet is about 20 cm long. Store clearly
indicates that it is a store for colorful & trendy clothes, its
Japanese, and it is very sophisticated.
• Environment: Store is filled with colorful clothes with
walls, shelves and floor in white. The clothes stand out due to
white background. Floor is white and makes you feel light.
Ceiling is white with appropriate lighting. The store is well lit
and lights focus the clothes appropriately. The store is not loud
however the store staffs welcome you too often in Japanese
style. This may seem fake and also sometimes can annoy you.
The music is light and mostly the popular songs. The
temperature at the store is about 27 degree Celsius which is
perfect. Store is not crowded with merchandise and smells
pleasant. The cash register is located at the center of the
store. It has about 4 -5 counters with very responsive and nice
cashiers. There is no security personal at the store. In fact, in
Singapore you don’t require a security personal.
• Personnel – There are a lot of sales persons always
around you. It is very easy to initiate a conversation with
them. I think they also have a script to follow with each
customer and seems like they are all very similar. When I
visited the store, the ratio was about 1 sales person per
10 customers. Most of the employees look between 18
and 21, mostly females and in uniform. You can
distinguish between the manager and a normal sales
  person.
• Products – The first product I noticed were shirts and t-shirts. Mostly
likely I will buy those. The display table with featured products is at
the entrance of the store. You don’t have to enter the store to know
the features products. You will be automatically drawn in after you
see them at the entrance. Items for “Sale” are typically located in
racks with red color signage. These signage’s are easily visible and
most of the buyers typically buy from the sale racks. Products are
arranged by function and by color. You can try any product you like
anywhere or inside the changing rooms in the store. I usually try
shirts outside as there are a lot of mirrors to see how it suits you.
The products placed on higher racks are least accessible but these
are ditto the ones at the bottom. So technically you can access all
products of all varieties. All the products not on sale seems about
the same price. So no differentiation between least and expensive
clothing. Prices of the products are displayed on the signage boards
thus making it super easy to check the price. There are no items
  near the cash counters.
• Customers: Most of the customers are with their friends
or girlfriend/boyfriend. Average age is between 12 and 35
and both genders are equally present at the store.
Typically customers walk in different directions as each of
them are attracted to different things. Even if they come
in groups they usually disburse. On an average, a
customer stays for at least 15 -20 mins in the store. You
can touch the products and try them. Most of the
customers are browsing the store. About 50% of
  customers purchase the products.
