new challenges
• Consider the use: What is the question being
asked?
– Assessing vulnerability, need, risk
– Making a care plan
– Addressing outcomes
(targeting, case management, program planning, M&E)
• Knowing also there is no magic bullet and
probably no single tool (this is good news and
bad news, e.g., the CSI and the OWT)
3. Other lessons
• Training and quality assurance are key (and
probably more complicated that we thought)
• With assessment comes the responsibility to
act
– A model for a care plan
– A local standard of care
• No organization can do it all, so we need to think about
• A system of care approach
