When asking for directions, common questions include "How do I get to...", "Where is the...", and "Can you show me the way to...". When giving directions, you can use prepositions like "next to", "behind", expressions like "go right/left", "turn right/left", and estimate distances and times.

a) Using prepositions + nouns:
- opposite (the school)
- near (the restaurant)
- next to (the bank)
- between (the post office & the cinema)
- in front of (the hospital)

- on the (left/right)

-go + direction (right, left, down, up, through,
straight on, along/down, past the )
e.g. Go through the park and past the police.
- turn + right/left
e.g. At the end of the street , turn right.

- stay on + road name for + distance or time
(when driving)
e.g. Stay on Roses Street for 5 minutes.
- Follow +road name + time /until
e.g. Follow Roses Street until you get to the
church.

-How far is it ?
-Is it far from here ?
-How long does it take to get to …?
Answers:
-It’s not very far.
-It’s only about … minutes.
-It won’t take you very long to get there.
