Asian Markets near 5-1/2 months high Leave a comment 21.04.2016 Asian Markets today inched close to 5-1/2-month highs on led by oil prices which shot up over 4 percent overnight because of smaller than expected increase in US crude inventories and also on hopes that producers may eventually agree on pointers to ease global glut. MSCI index rose 0.6 percent while Nikkei gained 2 percent. Australian stocks were up 0.9 percent while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 1.5 percent. Though not much of a movement was seen in Shanghai. Following the trend of other Asian Markets, even Indian Benchmark Indices Nifty and Sensex also opened up. While Sensex was trading more than 200 points up at 9.50 am, National Stock Exchange’s Nifty was trading more than 50 points higher than yesterday’s close.
