This document outlines a mini project for students to study an Asian country. It provides learning intentions, success criteria, and tasks for students to research an Asian country, identify it on a map, write about an act of kindness occurring in the region, discuss writing techniques, and perform and record an act of kindness for homework. The goal is for students to expand their knowledge of Asia and share facts about an Asian country through engaging research and collaboration.

4. Research
 Use the internet to find an article about a
current program occurring in our Asian
region
 Paraphrase 1-2 well chosen paragraphs
from the article and then write a
paragraph about why you think the
article shows kindness.

5. Collaboration
 Share your understanding by identifying
the place you have researched on the
large map of Asia
 Paste your writing near this point and
explain what you found out

6. Writing conventions
 Referring to your article, look for the
writing techniques the author has used.
 Discuss what you have noticed with the
other students at your table.

7. Writing an article
 Articles all share common elements
including the who, what, where, when,
why, and how of a given topic.

8. Homework
 You must perform an act of kindness and
record what you did, why you did it, who
you did it for, when etc...
 You will need this information for the next
class.
 It can be anything e.g. a compliment to
someone who is feeling down, a card or
poem written for a parent or carer,
helping with the housework etc.
