Ressac recently implemented ServiceTrade to improve their service management and customer service. While this solved their challenges on the service side of their business, they were still using an outdated version of Dynamics NAV, a server-based accounting platform, to maintain its financial records. “We were so focused on making improvements to the service side including customer service and earning more revenue that accounting was an afterthought,” explains Nick Rohan, CEO at Ressac. “We lacked real-time visibility into our financial information,” he says, “and we had to double key everything.”
With no transparency into financials such as working capital and cash flow, decision-making was more like guesswork. In a very competitive industry, and with a profit margin as low as 5-7%, it was critical to know the current situation when making business decisions. And since data wasn’t being shared between the accounting system and ServiceTrade, the finance team carried a large time burden related to too many AP and AR manual processes.
“Connecting to the old accounting system was cumbersome,” Mr. Rohan explains, “and we had a lot of issues getting into the system.” And with no AP approval process in place, service managers had to approve purchases, which took them away from more strategic job related activities and created time consuming invoicing of their clients. Additionally, data siloed within spreadsheets led to inefficient and time consuming reporting processes throughout the organization.
Ressac desired a cloud solution that could streamline its AP workflow and approvals and provide real-time visibility into its multiple locations’ financial results. Sage Intacct’s financial management software was selected, and was seamlessly integrated with ServiceTrade to eliminate many hours of manual data entry and reduce costly errors inherent in their old system.

Background:
HKS Garage R is one of Singapore’s largest Car enthusiast B2B & B2C retailer. Occupying a
25,000 sq ft facility in Tagore industrial avenue, it’s 2011 annual revenue was SGD 30
Million. There is a total of 500,000 transactions annually with a supplier list of 3000+.
Challenge
As the company is rapidly expanding with an ever increasing list of B2B partners and an
alarming fact that 20% of B2B partners have at least 10% transactions which was late
payment by >120 days – TWC was in danger.
Solution
We worked with the finance department of Garage R to do 3 things co-currently.
1) Debt recovery of >120 days payment. – 65% collection rate within 3Months & 70% within 6
months.
2) Pre-warning to repeat B2B partners, of which we renegotiated payment terms from 45days
to 30days for repeat offenders.
3) Set up an accreditation system of B2B partners, this allowed us to model the predictive
“exposed risk” to Garage R’s TWC.

Background:
• Engtek was established in 1974 to serve the marine service and supply industry. Thoughtful
diligence won the confidence of their customers. With customer support the company
ventured into offshore and land-based industries. Over the years, Engtek has entered the
construction, technology and environmental sectors, as well as managed several
businesses in healthcare, sports and entertainment.
Challenge
As the Engtek group had a decentralized approach to managing it’s subsidiaries and a huge
list of suppliers 2000+ and B2B partners 500+. Engtek group needed to ensure that aside
from centralizing it’s finance team, they were required to have an in-depth analysis of TWC
within the group.
Solution
We worked with the finance department of ENGTEK to do 2 things co-currently.
1) Set up a cloud computing system, which helps to complement ENGTEK’s existing IT backend.
What resulted was a real-time reporting of the TWC and Debt-to-capital ratio across the
consortium and an analysis of the Risk towards the collection.
2)Collected back 75% of all >120 days of outstanding debt throughout the list for 500+ global
B2B partners within 3 months.
