This document discusses various teaching methods used in social science. It begins by introducing different methods like the textbook method, laboratory method, activity method, and others. It then outlines the objectives, scope, limitations, and methodology of a study analyzing the effectiveness of these methods. Key findings from a survey of students show that lecture methods are most commonly used but students are also interested in dramatic methods. The conclusion discusses how different methods have merits and limitations, and teachers should combine approaches rather than rely solely on textbooks.

limits the investigator from having a detailed collection of information.
METHODOLOGY
Methodology refers to the use of different kinds of method to
undertake study.
5. METHOD
For the present study the investigator has used the survey method.
TOOL
The tool used for the present study is a well prepared questionnaire
SAMPLE
The sample used for the present study is co-students of 10th, Prayar
School, Oachira.
ANALYSIS AND INTERPREATATION
The sample selected for the study is 10th students of Prayar school.
The investigator taken the study on the “Effectiveness of various methods used in
social science”

negatively. The next questions lecture method does not allow all the facilities of
the students to develop. 80% have responded negatively.
To the question, the social science teacher should not follow text book method.

CONCLUSION
The text book method, the lecture method and the discussion method
are considered to be most suitable for the latter, the project method. The problem
method, the unit method, the source method and socialized recitation method are
thought to be most effective and beneficial.
8. After considering the merits and limitations it may be conducted that
too much reliance and emphasis of the text book should not be placed because text
book method is not a complete method in itself. Teacher should use this method in
combination with other methods of teaching. Teacher should give assignment
which should be challenging so as to motivate the pupils for self activity learning
and self study.
As in the case of all other methods we should not think that socialized
recitation is a solutions to all class room problems. It is only a procedure which
may frequently be used by the teacher to much advantages.
“If the teaching is to reach it’s highest degree of efficiency. Teacher
must possess a broad understanding of all faces of is essential to good teaching.
