AS MEDIA EVALUATION
1. How does your media product
represent particular social groups?
Our media product represents the younger generation because the
main stars are young girls and the target audience is young adults. This
film shows revenge and we thought that the audience would enjoy this
film and the storyline to go with it.
2. What kind of media
institution might distribute
your media product and why?
Our film was produced by a group of 4 teenagers it is highly unlikely
like a large Hollywood production such as warner Bros would
distribute our Media film. However although the film was made by
teenagers we would like to think the people that watch the opening
2 minutes like it and are intrigued by our storyline. I would also like
to think a channel such as channel 4 would distribute our film
because we have met the demands of what the audience want from
a film like ours and there would be no reason why our film couldn’t
be shown on television and see what the audience think of it. We
have met the normal genre conventions that are expected from a
film like ours.
3. What have you learnt about
technologies rom the process of
conducting this product?
We have learnt a lot of things and one of these is how to actually
operate a video camera and other bits that go with it such as a
tripod. We have also learnt how to use an editing sui which is
something I had never done before until doing AS Media. Another
thing we have also learnt is that the equipment we used to make
this product is very expensive and has to be treated with care and
respected.
4. Looking back at your
preliminary task, what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
Looking back at our preliminary task we learnt a few different things and
one of these were that our ability to plan and organise has developed to a
much better standard and it is very clear that we were a lot more organised
with this task. Another thing which we learnt is that we could work better
together as a team and our teamwork skills have developed lots. Each one
of us helped and contributed to this film because in the prelim we were
very laid back and did not do our best to get everything in on time and to
the best of our ability whereas on this task we have tried very hard and
have worked extremely well as a team. The last thing we have learnt is how
to effectively use the editing suite provided and how to play around with
the different transitions and effects to figure our which one would be the
right one to use in our film. By doing this we could neaten up our film and
make it the best we possibly could as a team.
