Job Description:
 Inclinometer will be installed outside excavation area and within diaphragm wall (D-wall) to
determine lateral deformation of ground and D-wall respectively, due to excavation activities.
 In place inclinometer will be installed within diaphragm walls to determine their lateral
deformation due to excavation activities.
 Borehole instruments are used for tunnel monitoring zones to determine the settlements at
depths.
 Strain Gauge is mainly used to measure the strain for bridges, pile, diaphragm wall, pressure shaft.
 Standpipe piezometers will be installed outside the excavation area and in the tunnel monitoring
zones to determine the groundwater behavior before and after construction activities.
 Open/PVC standpipe is used for measuring ground water level and its variation with time.
 Vibrating wire piezometers will be installed outside excavation areas to determine the groundwater
pressure at different depths before and after construction activities.
 Tape extensometer used for structure and tunnel line for the measurement of small changes of
distance between two points.
 Load cell is required for measurement of load in struts and soil.
 Crack meter shall be used to monitor change in width of existing cracks in critical buildings,
located within zone of influence of the project.
 Tilt measurement system shall be used to monitor change in tilt of critical buildings, located within
zone of influence.
 Building settlement points shall be installed to monitor settlement of critical buildings and
structures within the zone of influence of the project.
 Surface settlement monitoring points shall be installed around the excavations and above the
tunnel alignments to monitor ground surface settlements induced due to construction activities.
 3D prism target shall be installed to monitor 3D movement(x, y & z) of critical buildings and
structures, within the zone of influence.
 Bi-reflex target consists of reflector mounted on a robust frame and to determine the deformation
of structure.
 Building survey: Pre and post building construction condition survey works including
identification of cracks ,dampness, exposed bricks, missing bricks, exposed rebar’s, Peeling of
plasters, tube well / hand Pumps /bore well and their locations of the existing building falling
within the potential zone of influence of the construction and along tunnel.
 Prepare and Submit the Building Survey report to the Client.
