Arts Open is a Visual Arts extravaganza featuring over 70 artists, across 40 studios and galleries. The program will not just feature the opportunity to meet the artists in their own studios but also incorporate Public Talks, Book Signings, and a Gala Ball. beginning as a boom town after gold was discovered in 1851, Castlemaine and the
Mount alexander Shire now boasts a vibrant community with an eclectic mix of people
and a broad range of historical, culinary, artistic and social opportunities for visitors.
With the generous support of the Mount alexander Shire Council, laTrobe university
and Cantwell Property this event showcases over 70 local artists, galleries, walks, talks
