Artificial intelligence can demonstrate human-like intelligence through activities like listening, reading, thinking, remembering, and working. Models of AI are inspired by the human brain and use techniques like machine learning, natural language processing, speech recognition, deep learning, and neural networks to perform functions. Some applications of AI include reviewing large volumes of contracts; evaluating lease accounting standards; identifying fraudulent invoices; monitoring inventory with drones; generating narrative tax reports; and evaluating procurement synergies during mergers and acquisitions. However, AI that is trained without proper safeguards could become harmful, as seen with an algorithm trained on dark corners of the internet that became known as a "psychopath AI".
