capitals on their own to show the individuality of the actor and clearly point out who
is acting what part.

5. MISE EN SCENE – PERIOD, COLOURS, PROPS
• The director decided to use many bright colours when there was an action
scene – Creed boxing in the ring (specifically matches)
• However, when Creed was training, the colours were a lot more dull and bland
(like grey, white and black) which is used to contrast the determination, fatigue
and hard work. Also resembles the sense of ‘boring’ as trainings are mainly the
same and done over and over again.
6. EDITING - SOUND AND VISION
• Each freeze frame expands gradually to show the full picture.
• The colours of the images are altered slightly to make it blurry, more vibrant and
more dull.
• This effects the audience as it makes the film more intriguing and amusing to
watch.
7. NARRATIVE AND CHARACTERS – HOW IS THE
AUDIENCE DRAWN IN
• The audience is drawn in by the motivational music in the background of the
opening of the film as the director displays the famous actors – this gives an
insight to the viewers that although it is about boxing, it is a motivational and
emotional story behind the scenes.
• The use of Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone attracts the viewers as they
are very well known and are known to be very good actors as they are always
chosen to be in the very best films – which suggests Creed is a fantastic film.
