Safeguard Secondary Containment
Secondary containment is essential to prevent leaks and spills from harming
surrounding areas and groundwater. ArmorThane industrial coatings are
involved in the maintenance and rehabilitation of all types of containment
systems. These structures may be sealed or open air with surfaces of metal,
plastic, concrete or geotextile materials. Dirt is not enough. Some of these uses
include:
 Oil and Gas Well Sites and Facilities
 Chemical Facilities and Storage Areas
 Tanks Farm Dikes or Berms
 Sumps and Trenches
 Drum Storage Areas
 Petroleum Storage
Corrosion and Weather Resistance
Back-up systems typically involve hazardous materials such as chemicals,
fuels, waste water, crude oil and other corrosive liquids. Our polyurethane and
polyurea coatings are used to prevent corrosion, rust and surface degradation
that can cause secondary containment systems to fail. Reactants and corrosive
materials sit harmlessly against ArmorThane’s polymers without damaging the
surface. Maintenance and liability costs can be greatly reduced.
In addition to corrosion and rust, ArmorThane coatings are not damaged by
constant exposure to direct sunlight. They expand and contract without
cracking in extreme weather.
Custom Application
Unlike pre-formed liners, sprayed-on coatings are thinner and take up less
space. They form a seamless membrane that exactly fits the shape, even
where poles, pumps and other internal or external structures attach.

Rubber Liner and Paint Problems
Rubber lining, paint and other surface protection simply do not last as long as
polymers such as polyurethane and polyurea. They can also release and absorb
materials causing contamination. And, they do not have the same abrasion and
corrosion resistance as polyurethane or polyurea and can contain weaknesses that
chemically aggressive fluids will find and exploit. Many of our products are 25-40%
less expensive than comparable epoxy coatings with better durability.
Key Coating Products for Secondary Containment
ArmorThane Secondary Containment coatings are involved with all types of
containment systems that may be sealed or open air with surfaces of metal, plastic,
concrete or geotextile materials. The goal is to prevent leaks and spills from harming
people, surrounding areas and groundwater. Here are products typically used:
EnviroThane – modified polyurea: top-of-the-line chemically resistance and
impermeable membrane; quick set time; excellent flexibility; extremely low shrinkage
rates (even better than typical elastomers)
HighLine 310 – polyureas: sets as quickly as 2 seconds; very good impact, abrasion,
and chemical resistance; consistent qualities even in extreme hot or cold climates
HighLine 510 – pure polyurea: excellent corrosion resistance; superior skid
resistance even to the HighLine 310; slightly slower set time for a smoother texture
application; lower sensitivity to moisture for spraying in environments that don’t allow
other elastomeric coatings options
Armor HiChem – polyurea: most comprehensive chemical and corrosion resistance;
good skid resistance; very good impact and abrasion resistance; ideal for chemically
corrosive material handling
SureGrip – soft polyurea: greatest elongation properties, tensile and tear strength for
high movement; adapts very well to multiple substrates; highest coefficient of friction,
maxing out our slip resistance testing

Containment
ArmorThane industrial coatings are involved in the manufacture, maintenance and
rehabilitation of all types of primary containment. These polyurethane and polyurea
products are perfect for holding tanks, pipelines and mobile units such as crates or
tanker trucks. These may be metal, plastic, concrete; sealed or open air; permanent
or temporary; water, fuel, waste, acidic and caustic compounds.
Spraying ArmorThane coatings has many benefits. Applicators are trained to know
which of the many products to use.
Corrosion Resistance
The corrosion of metal and degradation of concrete and plastics occur even with
“simple” fluids like water. Deterioration is sped up by more aggressive compounds
such as acids, alkalis and organic wastes. Our coatings prevent this process to
reduce the risk of leaking and even collapsing vessel walls. Reactants and corrosive
materials sit harmlessly against ArmorThane’s polymers and have no effect on the
tank or pipe. Maintenance and liability costs can be greatly reduced.
Prevention of Cross-Contamination
If different materials are moved in and out of containment, cross contamination or
dilution of “purity” is a concern. Coatings are easy to clean and do not leach into or
absorb contained materials.
Water Protection
Water is stored and moved in every community around the world. ArmorThane has a
coating designed for containment systems holding potable water and other ingested
products. It is NSF certified.
Custom Application

Government Regulations
The U.S. and other governments require containment of fracking fluids and other
potential spills at oil and gas drilling sites. ArmorThane offers proven cost-effective
methods to build the most reliable containment systems available. These systems
meet or exceed regulations and help protect the company from environmental
liability.
Coatings Characteristics
ArmorThane offers polyurea as well as polyurethane and other polymers for
sprayed-on coatings. These are specifically designed for building a number of
containment systems used in the oil and gas drilling industries. Spraying over a
geotextile material creates a bond that makes these barriers much more tear
resistant, corrosion resistant, leak-proof and virtually indestructible. Our coatings
will not absorb and will not react with chemicals, so spills and other fluids sit
harmlessly in the containment structure.
The coating molds seamlessly to any in-ground pit or above-ground containment
vessel. This offers the flexibility of creating an impermeable membrane that exactly
fits the shape, even where poles, pumps and other internal or external structures
attach. In addition to geotextile materials, our products coat a variety of surfaces
including concrete, metal, plastic, fiberglass and wood.
The Oil & Gas industry operates in a variety of climates. ArmorThane sprayed
products have excellent performance in extreme cold, blazing heat, soggy humidity,
brittle dryness and freeze-thaw cycle expansion and contraction without degrading.
These spill berms and other containment solutions are easy to install and have low
maintenance. With our custom-built Mobile Coatings Unit, spraying is done at any
oil and gas field. It can be taken site to site or remain stationary for multiple
projects.

Mining
When constant use and abuse impacts equipment performance, the best way to
improve the odds is by using tough ArmorThane coatings. Advancements made in
Polyurea and Polyurethane provide maximum protection against friction and corrosion
of mining operations. Extending the life of equipment saves millions in replacement
costs and downtime.
In addition to equipment, the entire corrosion-susceptible environment will benefit from
being sprayed with plural-component polymers. ArmorThane products coat steel,
concrete, wood and various geotextile materials.
Mining Equipment Corrosion Resistance
If equipment rusts, deterioration accelerates. Therefore, every piece of equipment that
is or can be damaged and worn during extracting, moving, preparing and refining
product should be coated. This includes sluices, gates, conveyors, ore cars, diggers,
crushers, cleaners, pipes, truck beds, tanks and steel beams.
Vibration and Noise Reduction
In addition to creating corrosion resistance, impact protection and abrasion barrier,
ArmorThane coatings reduce noise and vibration that can cause extra wear on bolts
and gears.
Added Safety
Coatings can be applied with a smooth finish to promote sliding or textured for slip
resistance.
Maintenance Alerts
While no coatings are more durable than ArmorThane, the reality is that any coating will
eventually wear thin from this constant friction on equipment. By applying two coatings
with different colors, maintenance teams have a visual inspection marker. For example,
the base coat can be Caution Orange with a topcoat of Grey polyurethane. When the
Caution Orange starts to show beneath, it is time to schedule a quick spray-on repair.
Wall Stability with Spray Foam
Polyurethane spray foam is used to fill cracks, reinforce rock stability, preventing minor
groundwater inflow and improving ventilation controls. It even seals vacated mine shaft
openings.
Primary or Secondary Containment
If primary or secondary containment is a concern, leaks are prevented by creating a
seamless membrane even when filled with fuel, waste or other corrosive and caustic
liquids. These coatings will not leach into or absorb contained materials.

Industrial
Flooring
Because commercial and industrial floors take more abuse than residential surfaces,
ArmorThane Polyurea and Polyurethane sprayed-on and roll-on coatings make more
sense than carpet, tile, vinyl, rubber or other coatings. New or repaired surfaces are
protected long term, even against corrosive chemicals and cracking or warping.
Coatings are applied both inside and outdoors.
Floor Coatings Benefit New and Old
Whether coating a new structure or repairing cracks and leaks, ArmorThane is the best
choice. Because our products have different attributes, it is easy to guard against the
various use and environmental circumstances that might be harmful for a floor.
For example, a showroom needs to be attractive, easy to clean and avoid abrasion when
moving merchandise. An auto garage or chemical plant requires flooring that resists
corrosion or caustic spills. A hospital or veterinary floor is scrubbed constantly so
coatings must be waterproof and scratch resistant to prevent spread of bacteria or
disease. A hotel indoor pool area needs anti-slip particulates. A commercial marina
opens liability with splinters in wood flooring. We have a solution for these problems and
more.
Benefits on Concrete or Wood Flooring
Commercial and industrial underlayment is typically concrete or wood. ArmorThane
coatings offer a variety of benefits with superior properties such as:
 Crack resistance
 Chemical resistance
 Seamless waterproofing
 Anti-slip, skid resistance
 Extreme condition weatherproofing
 Warp and rot resistance
 Splinter resistance

Flooring Design Choices
Even industrial flooring should be attractive as well as highly durable. ArmorThane
products can be pigmented to a matching color or used as a design accent. If color
retention in sunlight exposed areas is important, we offer both UV stable topcoats and
aliphatic polymers to prevent fading. Quick-dry options can incorporate creative
designs such as faux tile or brick and logos.
Safe for All Environments
These coatings are completely safe for people, animals and plants. They have no
VOC’s or solvents and there is little risk of absorb chemicals or corrosives.
Surfaces are easy to clean since they do not absorb or scratch. A variety of textures
and anti-skid particulates can be added to prevent slipping.
Beyond Indoor Features
Many facilities have both indoor and outdoor environments to consider. Our products
also add protection and beauty to the entire outside environment.
Covering surfaces on worn out patios, porches, pool decks, walls, walkways, bridges
and park pavilions prevents further deterioration and revitalizes valuable landscaping.
Decorative water features, retention ponds and secondary containment reservoirs can
be waterproofed.
Industrial tanks can be made leak proof without worrying about the coating leaching or
absorbing chemicals. Concrete loading docks, even parking lots, can be repaired and
protected to reduce maintenance.

Sewer System, Refuse Chutes,
Wastewater Protective Coatings
Industrial
Sewer
The wastewater and sanitation industries are quickly recognizing the value of
industrial polyurea and polyurethane sprayed-on coatings. Pressures mount as
sewage treatment and trash disposal is accelerating from population growth.
And, a more effluent world is demanding improved living conditions just as aging
municipal infrastructures falter. As water resources shrink, environmental
regulations tighten.
ArmorThane offers the best coating materials available. We have had worldwide
success in showing applicators how to repair and maintain wastewater systems.
The flexibility, strength and durability of our coatings create a permanent,
impermeable liner over concrete and other materials. Coatings are not
damaged by standing water, chemicals or other potentially caustic fluids.
Sewer Manholes and Tunnels
Many of municipal sewage systems are aging and deteriorating. The wet, humid
environment requires a special coating process to ensure waste is diverted into
safe treatment or storage areas and to prevent bacteria, chemicals and other
pollutants from leaking into our clean water sources. Read more on how
ArmorThane tackled the sewer problems in Hong Kong and watch sewer
spraying in the YouTube video.
Refuse Chutes / Trash Collection
ArmorThane products are perfect for coating high rise building refuse shoots,
trash receptacles and trash truck bed liners to prevent garbage from leaking until
it reaches treatment facilities or landfills. Read more on how ArmorThane tackled
the trash chute problems in Singapore and watch chute spraying in the
YouTube video.
Lagoons, Treatment Ponds, Clarifying Wells, Digesters
The wastewater treatment systems require a great deal of maintenance for
proper performance and safety. The right preparation process and coating is
necessary to repair and prevent leaking . ArmorThane trains applicators based
on the environment of the location and any special circumstances.
Storm Water Trenches and Culverts
Communities quite often deal with rain water runoff with concrete trenches and
culverts. The problem is that concrete eventually cracks or spalls with wet-dry
and hot-cold environments. ArmorThane has coatings to prevent this and also
geotextile applications where concrete is not feasible.
Added Safety
Coatings can be applied with a smooth finish to promote sliding or textured for
slip resistance on floors, walkways, stairs or ladders.

Sprayed Safety Coatings
Safety
ArmorThane developed a number of spray coatings that help commercial and
industrial companies protect against accidents. These hazards often go unseen until
an incident occurs. In other cases, safety precautions are used but not as effectively
as ArmorThane provides.
Non Slip | Non Skip
Indoor and outside floors, ramps and steps are particularly dangerous if wet and
slippery. ArmorThane coatings can be textured and/or particulates can be
permanently added to reduce slip and fall risks. This is especially important on
concrete exposed to rain, washing, sprayed mist or wet foot traffic.
While several of ArmorThane’s products can be textured or have particulates added,
SureGrip polyurea is the softest with the highest coefficient of friction, maxing out our
slip resistance testing. Also see ArmorShield waterborne polyurea and ArmorFloor PA
2-part roll-on flooring system of aliphatic polyaspartic.
Color Coding | Permanent Signs
A number of industrial settings use color on pipes, tanks or signs to distinguish one
area from another. ArmorThane products are resistant to weather and abrasion and
therefore last much longer than other coatings. Another solution is to spray Caution
Orange on heavy duty equipment then spray a topcoat. As the topcoat wears off with
excessive abrasion, the orange signals a time for more topcoat.
Depending on the harshness of the work environment, ArmorThane offers STS-200
polyurethane for basic long-lasting signage and HighLine 310 polyurea or HighLine
510 polyurea for higher wear-resistance on equipment. Also read more about aliphatic
UV sunlight resistant ColorCoat.
Blast Barriers
Industries exposed to explosive risks such as chemical companies and refineries can
use ArmorThane coatings to create another layer of security. Coating walls and other
surfaces offer a blast barrier that reduces structural damage and injury from
concussive forces and flying fragments. In addition to explosion, our military-grade
coatings give maximum durability against extreme weather elements, excessive
friction and earth tremors.
ArmorBlast polyurea and UltraBlast polyurea are most commonly used for military
applications. HighLine 510 polyurea is another coating recommended to help keep
surfaces from fragmenting under massive pressure.

Environmental Protection
Whether accidental or intentional, chemical leaks can cause environmental
disasters and risk property, injury and the ongoing profitability of a company.
ArmorThane coatings are used for both primary containment and secondary
containment to repair and maintain a leak proof and corrosion resistant barrier in a
variety of industries.
Depending on the conditions and type of requirements, coating recommendations
range from STS-300 polyurethane and HighLine-310 polyurea to the moisture
resistant HighLine 510 polyurea to the chemical and corrosion resistant Armor
HiChem polyurea and EnviroThane modified polyurea.
Structural Safety
Steel, wood and concrete eventually deteriorate, especially if the surface was
simply painted. The result can be a risk for collapse or at least costly repairs.
ArmorThane coatings are applied to new structures and used to renovate old ones.
Coatings form a barrier that prevents moisture and air from damage. The surface
has a membrane that protects against harsh elements such as extreme cold,
constant sun exposure, wind and chemicals. The key to refurbishing steel is to
completely remove rust or the rust will continue to spread.
Factors such as stress, moisture and new versus repair effect the recommendations
for structural safety. These might include basic STS-300 polyurethane and
HighLine-310 polyurea or the moisture resistant HighLine 510 polyurea.
In addition to these safety coatings that protect structures against moisture,
temperature changes, and corrosive elements, ArmorFoam polyurethane expanding
foam hardens to strengthen walls, roofs and floors from damaging winds. This is
particularly useful with large metal buildings. ArmorFoam both protects and
insulates.
Healthier Environments
Facilities that constantly wash floors can be exposed to bacteria and mold when the
water is allowed to seep between the floor and the wall or penetrate the drywall. By
applying cove molding and sealing with ArmorThane partway up the wall, the
waterproof barrier do not allow germs to grow. Floors do not crack or scratch and
are easily cleaned.
Many of the ArmorThane polyurethane and polyurea products are used to create a
seamless membrane on floors. Most common are STS-200 or STS-300
polyurethane or HighLine-310 polyurea.
Potable Water and Food Surfaces
For tanks, counters and other surfaces that come into direct contact with water, food
or other ingested or materials and medical equipment, ArmorThane has AquaSafe
polyurea, a coating that is Potable Water Certified passing US ANSI NSF-61.
Fire Prevention
ArmorThane has coatings that add fire retardant properties to areas that are either
regulated or there is a desired additional level of safety. This is particularly useful in
schools, healthcare facilities and entertainment venues where crowds would need
extra time to evacuate.
Two primary fire retardant coatings are versions of STS-200 polyurethane and
Armor HardCoat polyurea.

High-Wear Coatings for
Construction and Industrial
Equipment
Equipment
Costly construction and industrial equipment is used in the most high-wear
surroundings. ArmorThane offers coating solutions to protect and revitalize
equipment at a fraction of the cost to replace.
Equipment Applications
A few of these applications include:
 Cement truck tanks
 Bulldozer blades
 Telephone truck steps
 Emergency vehicles
 Mining diggers, crushers
 Ag equipment
 Dump truck bed liners
 Transport trucks
 Barges, sea containers
 Rail cars
 Trailers
Benefits to Coating
Spraying equipment new saves thousands in down time and maintenance costs and
adds years of performance. But, coatings are also very cost-effective for
rehabilitating used and work-worn surfaces. Repainting is simply not the answer to
these problems:
 Resisting dents and scratches
 Avoiding breaking or chipping during rough use
 Protecting against corrosion and rust from elements and most chemicals
 Repairing, preventing rust and other damage
 Reducing slips and skidding with textured surface or particulates
 Absorbing impact to reduce vibration, noise
An extra benefit is to increase the resell value.
Product Suggestions
As with so many industry applications, the suggested coating vary depending on the
conditions such as abrasion, chemical exposure, moisture and other damaging
effects. These can range from lower end STS-200 or STS-300 polyurethane used
on truck and trailer beds to the top of the line durability of UltraTech pure polyurea.
UltraTech is the most wear-resistant material with outstanding abrasion/friction
resistance and is applied to digging equipment.

  • 3. Secondary Spill Containment Protection Sec Containment Safeguard Secondary Containment Secondary containment is essential to prevent leaks and spills from harming surrounding areas and groundwater. ArmorThane industrial coatings are involved in the maintenance and rehabilitation of all types of containment systems. These structures may be sealed or open air with surfaces of metal, plastic, concrete or geotextile materials. Dirt is not enough. Some of these uses include:  Oil and Gas Well Sites and Facilities  Chemical Facilities and Storage Areas  Tanks Farm Dikes or Berms  Sumps and Trenches  Drum Storage Areas  Petroleum Storage Corrosion and Weather Resistance Back-up systems typically involve hazardous materials such as chemicals, fuels, waste water, crude oil and other corrosive liquids. Our polyurethane and polyurea coatings are used to prevent corrosion, rust and surface degradation that can cause secondary containment systems to fail. Reactants and corrosive materials sit harmlessly against ArmorThane’s polymers without damaging the surface. Maintenance and liability costs can be greatly reduced. In addition to corrosion and rust, ArmorThane coatings are not damaged by constant exposure to direct sunlight. They expand and contract without cracking in extreme weather. Custom Application Unlike pre-formed liners, sprayed-on coatings are thinner and take up less space. They form a seamless membrane that exactly fits the shape, even where poles, pumps and other internal or external structures attach. Industrial Applications Secondary / Spill Containment Primary Containment Oil / Gas Berms & Applications Mining Applications Industrial Flooring Sewer / Trash / Wastewater Safety – Floors, Steps, Docks Equipment / Commercial Vehicles
  • 4. Sec Containment cont Rubber Liner and Paint Problems Rubber lining, paint and other surface protection simply do not last as long as polymers such as polyurethane and polyurea. They can also release and absorb materials causing contamination. And, they do not have the same abrasion and corrosion resistance as polyurethane or polyurea and can contain weaknesses that chemically aggressive fluids will find and exploit. Many of our products are 25-40% less expensive than comparable epoxy coatings with better durability. Key Coating Products for Secondary Containment ArmorThane Secondary Containment coatings are involved with all types of containment systems that may be sealed or open air with surfaces of metal, plastic, concrete or geotextile materials. The goal is to prevent leaks and spills from harming people, surrounding areas and groundwater. Here are products typically used: EnviroThane – modified polyurea: top-of-the-line chemically resistance and impermeable membrane; quick set time; excellent flexibility; extremely low shrinkage rates (even better than typical elastomers) HighLine 310 – polyureas: sets as quickly as 2 seconds; very good impact, abrasion, and chemical resistance; consistent qualities even in extreme hot or cold climates HighLine 510 – pure polyurea: excellent corrosion resistance; superior skid resistance even to the HighLine 310; slightly slower set time for a smoother texture application; lower sensitivity to moisture for spraying in environments that don’t allow other elastomeric coatings options Armor HiChem – polyurea: most comprehensive chemical and corrosion resistance; good skid resistance; very good impact and abrasion resistance; ideal for chemically corrosive material handling SureGrip – soft polyurea: greatest elongation properties, tensile and tear strength for high movement; adapts very well to multiple substrates; highest coefficient of friction, maxing out our slip resistance testing Custom-Built Mobile Coatings Units
  • 5. Primary Containment Protective Coatings Primary Containment ArmorThane industrial coatings are involved in the manufacture, maintenance and rehabilitation of all types of primary containment. These polyurethane and polyurea products are perfect for holding tanks, pipelines and mobile units such as crates or tanker trucks. These may be metal, plastic, concrete; sealed or open air; permanent or temporary; water, fuel, waste, acidic and caustic compounds. Spraying ArmorThane coatings has many benefits. Applicators are trained to know which of the many products to use. Corrosion Resistance The corrosion of metal and degradation of concrete and plastics occur even with “simple” fluids like water. Deterioration is sped up by more aggressive compounds such as acids, alkalis and organic wastes. Our coatings prevent this process to reduce the risk of leaking and even collapsing vessel walls. Reactants and corrosive materials sit harmlessly against ArmorThane’s polymers and have no effect on the tank or pipe. Maintenance and liability costs can be greatly reduced. Prevention of Cross-Contamination If different materials are moved in and out of containment, cross contamination or dilution of “purity” is a concern. Coatings are easy to clean and do not leach into or absorb contained materials. Water Protection Water is stored and moved in every community around the world. ArmorThane has a coating designed for containment systems holding potable water and other ingested products. It is NSF certified. Custom Application Unlike pre-formed liners, sprayed-on coatings are thinner and take up less space. They form a seamless membrane that exactly fits, even where poles, pumps and other internal or external structures attach. Rubber Liner and Paint Problems Rubber lining, paint and other surface protection simply do not last as long as polymers such as polyurethane and polyurea. They can also release and absorb materials causing contamination. And, they do not have the same abrasion and corrosion resistance as polyurethane or polyurea and can contain weaknesses that chemically aggressive fluids will find and exploit. • 9. Mining & Mineral Processing Protective Coatings Industrial Mining When constant use and abuse impacts equipment performance, the best way to improve the odds is by using tough ArmorThane coatings. Advancements made in Polyurea and Polyurethane provide maximum protection against friction and corrosion of mining operations. Extending the life of equipment saves millions in replacement costs and downtime. In addition to equipment, the entire corrosion-susceptible environment will benefit from being sprayed with plural-component polymers. ArmorThane products coat steel, concrete, wood and various geotextile materials. Mining Equipment Corrosion Resistance If equipment rusts, deterioration accelerates. Therefore, every piece of equipment that is or can be damaged and worn during extracting, moving, preparing and refining product should be coated. This includes sluices, gates, conveyors, ore cars, diggers, crushers, cleaners, pipes, truck beds, tanks and steel beams. Vibration and Noise Reduction In addition to creating corrosion resistance, impact protection and abrasion barrier, ArmorThane coatings reduce noise and vibration that can cause extra wear on bolts and gears. Added Safety Coatings can be applied with a smooth finish to promote sliding or textured for slip resistance. Maintenance Alerts While no coatings are more durable than ArmorThane, the reality is that any coating will eventually wear thin from this constant friction on equipment. By applying two coatings with different colors, maintenance teams have a visual inspection marker. For example, the base coat can be Caution Orange with a topcoat of Grey polyurethane. When the Caution Orange starts to show beneath, it is time to schedule a quick spray-on repair. Wall Stability with Spray Foam Polyurethane spray foam is used to fill cracks, reinforce rock stability, preventing minor groundwater inflow and improving ventilation controls. It even seals vacated mine shaft openings. Primary or Secondary Containment If primary or secondary containment is a concern, leaks are prevented by creating a seamless membrane even when filled with fuel, waste or other corrosive and caustic liquids. These coatings will not leach into or absorb contained materials. • 16. Sprayed Safety Coatings Safety ArmorThane developed a number of spray coatings that help commercial and industrial companies protect against accidents. These hazards often go unseen until an incident occurs. In other cases, safety precautions are used but not as effectively as ArmorThane provides. Non Slip | Non Skip Indoor and outside floors, ramps and steps are particularly dangerous if wet and slippery. ArmorThane coatings can be textured and/or particulates can be permanently added to reduce slip and fall risks. This is especially important on concrete exposed to rain, washing, sprayed mist or wet foot traffic. While several of ArmorThane’s products can be textured or have particulates added, SureGrip polyurea is the softest with the highest coefficient of friction, maxing out our slip resistance testing. Also see ArmorShield waterborne polyurea and ArmorFloor PA 2-part roll-on flooring system of aliphatic polyaspartic. Color Coding | Permanent Signs A number of industrial settings use color on pipes, tanks or signs to distinguish one area from another. ArmorThane products are resistant to weather and abrasion and therefore last much longer than other coatings. Another solution is to spray Caution Orange on heavy duty equipment then spray a topcoat. As the topcoat wears off with excessive abrasion, the orange signals a time for more topcoat. Depending on the harshness of the work environment, ArmorThane offers STS-200 polyurethane for basic long-lasting signage and HighLine 310 polyurea or HighLine 510 polyurea for higher wear-resistance on equipment. Also read more about aliphatic UV sunlight resistant ColorCoat. Blast Barriers Industries exposed to explosive risks such as chemical companies and refineries can use ArmorThane coatings to create another layer of security. Coating walls and other surfaces offer a blast barrier that reduces structural damage and injury from concussive forces and flying fragments. In addition to explosion, our military-grade coatings give maximum durability against extreme weather elements, excessive friction and earth tremors. • 17. Safety cont Environmental Protection Whether accidental or intentional, chemical leaks can cause environmental disasters and risk property, injury and the ongoing profitability of a company. ArmorThane coatings are used for both primary containment and secondary containment to repair and maintain a leak proof and corrosion resistant barrier in a variety of industries. Depending on the conditions and type of requirements, coating recommendations range from STS-300 polyurethane and HighLine-310 polyurea to the moisture resistant HighLine 510 polyurea to the chemical and corrosion resistant Armor HiChem polyurea and EnviroThane modified polyurea. Structural Safety Steel, wood and concrete eventually deteriorate, especially if the surface was simply painted. The result can be a risk for collapse or at least costly repairs. ArmorThane coatings are applied to new structures and used to renovate old ones. Coatings form a barrier that prevents moisture and air from damage. The surface has a membrane that protects against harsh elements such as extreme cold, constant sun exposure, wind and chemicals. The key to refurbishing steel is to completely remove rust or the rust will continue to spread. Factors such as stress, moisture and new versus repair effect the recommendations for structural safety. These might include basic STS-300 polyurethane and HighLine-310 polyurea or the moisture resistant HighLine 510 polyurea. In addition to these safety coatings that protect structures against moisture, temperature changes, and corrosive elements, ArmorFoam polyurethane expanding foam hardens to strengthen walls, roofs and floors from damaging winds. This is particularly useful with large metal buildings. ArmorFoam both protects and insulates. Healthier Environments Facilities that constantly wash floors can be exposed to bacteria and mold when the water is allowed to seep between the floor and the wall or penetrate the drywall. By applying cove molding and sealing with ArmorThane partway up the wall, the waterproof barrier do not allow germs to grow. Floors do not crack or scratch and are easily cleaned. Many of the ArmorThane polyurethane and polyurea products are used to create a seamless membrane on floors. Most common are STS-200 or STS-300 polyurethane or HighLine-310 polyurea. Potable Water and Food Surfaces For tanks, counters and other surfaces that come into direct contact with water, food or other ingested or materials and medical equipment, ArmorThane has AquaSafe polyurea, a coating that is Potable Water Certified passing US ANSI NSF-61. Fire Prevention ArmorThane has coatings that add fire retardant properties to areas that are either regulated or there is a desired additional level of safety. This is particularly useful in schools, healthcare facilities and entertainment venues where crowds would need extra time to evacuate. Two primary fire retardant coatings are versions of STS-200 polyurethane and Armor HardCoat polyurea. Custom-Built Mobile Coatings Units
