Engineering structure decks and related equipment must be waterproofed for durability.
Synthetic resins are one of the most effective processes available for waterproofing these
structures.
Building on its expertise in formulating and laying these products, Eurovia has harnessed
the adhesion and flexibility of polyurethane resins to develop the Resiplast range of highly effective waterproofing processes.
The role of engineering structure waterproofing is to protect the deck and structure from
the corrosive effects of zenithal water, which may also contain aggressive products such as
decicing salts used on pavements in winter.
Laying a waterproof screen on a concrete deck can sometimes produce unwanted side effects.
Because of the microporosity of the concrete, air and water can become trapped under the
waterproofing and air and steam escaping from the concrete can produce blistering that can
damage the waterproofing and the surface course.
The new Viaplast® process developed by Eurovia eliminates the risk of blistering and can be applied at high output rates.
Flexiplast® - Keeping the cracks in their placeEurovia_Group
When pavement materials treated with hydraulic binders are laid without pre-cracking, they crack
and can cause damage to surface courses. The techniques employed to avoid these problems must
prevent cracks from propagating to the surface over time while maintaining all pavement qualities
such as inter-layer bonding, structure waterproofing and rutting resistance.
Flexiplast®, developed by Eurovia, is one of the few multi-purpose solutions available to provide such
characteristics.

Tempera® - Innovation to serve the environmentEurovia_Group
With ecological and energy requirements becoming ever more stringent, the various roadworks industry stakeholders are increasingly focusing on lowering asphalt mix production and laying temperatures.
The use of cold asphaltic concrete in pavement surface courses calls for specific emulsion
formulations and for suitable production and laying processes.
Eurovia has developed environmentally friendly pavement maintenance techniques based on
cold materials. This expertise has given rise to an exclusive, highly effective process: Ecolvia.
Industries are using more and more sophisticated and demanding processes and equipment to
ensure high quality production under the best possible conditions of safety, strength and comfort.
They are therefore increasingly installing high-quality flooring designed to support their equipment
and withstand very heavy loads.
Evotherm® DAT5 - A breakthrough innovationEurovia_Group
As part of its strong commitment to designing more environmentally friendly road infrastructure, Eurovia pioneered the development of so-called warm mixes, which have limited energy impact, in Europe as far back as 2003. Eurovia’s Tempera® product range includes a new process: Evotherm® DAT5.
Renfovia is a high modulus asphalt for base and binder courses. It can be used to build
and reinforce pavements subject to all types of traffic. Developed by Eurovia, it extends
pavement service life.
With its excellent mechanical performance, Renfovia is particularly suitable for
pavements subject to rutting and for port and airport infrastructure.
Contracting authorities often call for pavement structures that will withstand traffic without
damage for long periods of time. When traffic is heavy, this requirement is generally met by
providing thick structures with a variety of layers of well-defined types and characteristics.
The conventional rule that the lowest-quality materials should be placed in the lower levels
and the higher-performance materials at the surface is disproved by a new structure designed
and developed by Eurovia.
Combustion reactions produce nitrogen compounds such as nitrogen monoxide (NO) and nitrogen
dioxide (NO2), commonly known as NOx. They are a factor in the formation of acid rain and summer
smog. A substantial proportion of the NOx generated comes from automobile exhaust. In its
ongoing endeavour to develop roads that are increasingly safe, aesthetic and environmentally
friendly, Eurovia has embarked on a pro-active environmental policy. The company has developed
the innovative NOxer process to efficiently and effectively combat pollution and provide optimum comfort for road users and local residents.
Viagrip® - Improved braking and roadholdingEurovia_Group
Skid resistance on a pavement in contact with vehicle tyres is one of the fundamental elements of
safety for both motorists and urban pedestrians.
This skid-resistance determines roadholding performance and braking distance when approaching
an obstacle.
In France, each person generates nearly 400 kg of household waste per year. This adds up to 26 million tonnes
for the country as a whole, of which 11.8 million tonnes are incinerated. Since July 2002, this waste can no longer
be landfilled directly. Instead it must undergo treatment to recover the recyclable fraction and then be stored in a
controlled landfill.
Incineration can reduce the volume of this waste by a factor of 10 and its weight by a factor of 4. Incineration
produces a granular residue called household waste bottom ash. More than 3 million tonnes of bottom ash are
produced annually. Eurovia uses it to produce 800,000 tonnes of materials for road construction – its Scorvia®
product range – in some 20 maturation and processing facilities.
Engineering structure decks are made of carefully formulated concrete but nevertheless
require surface waterproofing to protect their reinforcing or prestressing steel from corrosion.
Polymer bitumen membranes can be used to ensure durable waterproofing, even when the
concrete is cracked. Eurovia’s Hydroplast® sheet is a high-performance solution.
Relatively thick layers of materials are generally used to maintain pavements subjected to high loadings. However, new asphalt mixes offering a combination of otherwise conflicting properties - high stiffness and flexibility - now make it possible to reduce these thicknesses.
Drainovia - Effective in all weather conditionsEurovia_Group
Porous asphalts are road surfacings that absorb and drain off rainwater, thereby limiting its harmful effects at the road surface. Motorists easily recognise this type of surfacing.
Microvia® - A benchmark in skid resistance.Eurovia_Group
Road construction engineering doctrine in France distinguishes between the structural role
played by the base courses and the functional role required for vehicle traffic, which is provided
by an appropriate surface course. This wearing course can be thin but it must have excellent and durable surface characteristics.
At the car wash Oskar Ruff & Co. OHG in Esslingen, CBL Chemobau coated both the fully automatic roadways and the SB Clean Park using with the system VIASOLDECK rapid. This waterproofing system of VIACOR Polymer GmbH is fast-curing at low temperatures as well as highly resistant to abrasions und chemicals. A separate wear coat ensures a very good slip resistance, which is absolutely necessary for a (self-service) car wash to prevent injuries. This allows pedestrians and staff to move safely about in the car wash. The system VIASOLDECK rapid complies with DIN EN 1504-2 and DIN V 18026, class OS 11a (OS Fa) and RILI SIB 2001, class OS10 as a drivable waterproofing and is therefore ideally suited for any car wash.
The roads evolve and essentially degrade under heavy traffic but also under the weather
conditions. One has to assert in the last time that a number of roads changes for the worse on,
due to fatigue and an important ageing phenomenons. But, with the decrease and insufficiency of
credits devoted to maintenance, the collectivities are faced with doing difficult choices in order to
keep their road infrastructures in good conditions.
Eurovia proposes from now on a technical, environmental and economic solution to keep the service quality expected by the users of the road: Gripseal®.
Plastifloor PUMMA resins are hybrid resins from MMA and PU. They are used for bridge deck repairs and overlays as well for waterproofing coatings on steel or concrete bridges. Plastifloor resins are approved by TÜV SÜD.
Technical Data Sheet of Mapelastic Smart by MapeiPritesh Kumar
Mapelastic Smart is used for waterproofing hydraulic projects such as channels, faces of dams, swimming pools, basins, storage tanks, etc. and balconies and terraces.
Particularly suitable for waterproofing irregular surfaces. Mapelastic Smart is also used to protect concrete structures, renders with hairline cracks and cementitious surfaces in general which, being subject to vibrations, may suffer from cracking.
Treated recycled materials are increasingly being used in the construction and maintenance of road pavement
structures.
The Recyvia® product range developed by Eurovia in the 1990s offers contracting authorities a simple, efficient,
effective and economical pavement refurbishing technique.
The incorporation of reclaimed asphalt pavement, or more broadly of materials already used in construction,
offers demonstrable environmental benefits while reducing the use of non-renewable raw materials and the
storage of inert materials.
Recyclovia - The solution that revitalises roadsEurovia_Group
Given the need to conserve natural resources, transport resources over long distances to
worksites and regulations restricting landfilling, road maintenance companies are turning to
techniques that cut back on the use of added materials. The recent Grenelle Environment Forum
agreements have brought these concerns into even sharper focus and are driving the effort to
recycle, reduce raw material and energy consumption and utilise by-products.

Recycan® - Nothing is lost, everything is processedEurovia_Group
Urban development involves substantial work on underground utility networks such as drinking
water, wastewater, rainwater, gas, electricity, telephone and cable systems. Such work is carried out
in complex environments and causes considerable disruption for the surrounding community.
Any technical solution capable of reducing the duration and level of inconvenience caused by such
works is therefore welcome. With Recycan®, Eurovia adds a further product to its range of trench
backfill materials initiated by the highly innovative Autocan® and Scorcan® products.
“GLOBALSEAL-TBM/T”
• MAIN BEARING SEALING COMPOUND (BIODEGRADABLE, PLANT OIL BASED – Approval list for seal material 85 NBR B248 - MERKEL FREUDENBERG FLUIDECHNIC GmbH, Germany).
“GLOBALSEAL-TBM/T” and “GLOBALSEAL-TBM/T-EC” is a sealant that can be used in machine tunneling, specially developed to resist against mud, water abd dust.
“GLOBALSEAL-TBM/T” and “GLOBALSEAL-TBM/T-EC” has excellent adherence even on wet surfaces and excellent water wash out resistance (< 6 %), it is stable at considerable pressure. It has high lubricating power.
It is a pumpable product and easy to apply.
Every engineering structure and especially every bridge faces unavoidable constraints among those a limited weight admissible on the bridge deck which has to be respected during its lifetime. This constraint is then translated by a limited road thickness (without waterproofing) defined by the design of the structure since its conception. Depending on pathologies found during the life time of the structure (flow, excessive constraints…), the operator can also be
asked to search for limits of overloads including maintenance works of the road.
Microsurfacings have proven their effectiveness in a large number of road projects and represent
an excellent compromise between technical characteristics and costs. Eurovia has developed
a "second generation" microsurfacing that confirms this technical performance track record,
especially in terms of skid resistance and durability.
Craft® - Olivia - Two highly effective processesEurovia_Group
Uncontrolled cracking of materials treated with hydraulic binders leads to pavement deterioration
that can jeopardize pavement durability and user safety. A technique known to be cost-effective
and prevent accidents, which is applied during the laying of materials treated with hydraulic
binders, can directly influence the cracking process inherent in these materials. Eurovia, a pioneer
in the field, has developed two pre-cracking processes: Craft® and Olivia.
Similar to Resiplast - Lightness allied with waterproofing (20)
Viafirst® Kart.
Viafirst® Kart - the surface layer for karting race coursesEurovia_Group
The approval criteria of karting race courses are very regulated and detailed in a document of the
French Sport automobile federation. This document includes especially the technical and safety rules
for such race courses.
In order to meet best the expressed requirements in these statutory documents, Eurovia has
elaborated a specific product for surface layers of karting race courses: Viafirst® Kart.
l’entreprise, favorisée par ailleurs par l’abondance
des ressources en agrégats d’enrobé. Aussi, les
techniques faisant appel aux matériaux recyclés se
sont-elles considérablement développées.
From a unique mix design or different ones, from
pavement dismantling or a plant surplus, reclaimed
asphalt pavement can be recycled in asphalt
concretes.
With the sustainable development followed by
Eurovia, the protection of natural materials is
a major point of the company’s concerns, also
favored by abundance of resources of RAP.
Therefore the techniques using recycled materials
have developed considerably.
La sécurité routière étant devenue une
préoccupation majeure dans notre société, les
besoins en adhérence se sont accrus, notamment
sur les itinéraires exposés (vitesse élevée, virage,
freinage…).
L’adhérence d’un revêtement correspond à sa
capacité à mobiliser des forces de frottement entre
le pneumatique et la chaussée pour permettre
l’accélération, le guidage des véhicules et le
freinage.
As the safety of the road has become a major
concern in our society, the needs in skid resistance
have increased, especially on the exposed itineraries
(high speed, blends, braking…).
The skid resistance of a surface layer corresponds
to its capacity to mobilize friction forces between
the pneumatic and the road to allow acceleration,
vehicle’s guidance and braking.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Ultra light-weight waterproofing
Can be applied to vertical structures
Key figures
Engineering structure decks and related equipment must be waterproofed for durability.
Synthetic resins are one of the most effective processes available for waterproofing these
structures.
Building on its expertise in formulating and laying these products, Eurovia has harnessed
the adhesion and flexibility of polyurethane resins to develop the Resiplastrange of highly
effective waterproofing processes.

Resiplast is a high performance waterproofing
technique used for engineering structure decks and
equipment in which superstructure weight is to be
kept to a minimum ( 10 kg/m2
). It is suitable for
waterproofing structures comprising complex elements
that make the use of other techniques difficult. These
include drainage channels, cornices, flashing, structural
girders, lampposts, safety barriers, anchor plates, and
other protruding elements.
ACROSS-THE-BOARD
PERFORMANCE
Resiplast is a dual-compound polyurethane resin
waterproofing complex for concrete engineering
structures.
The process is a thin adhesive film waterproofing as
defined in French General Technical Specifications
Publication 67, Title 1.
Resiplast is formulated and manufactured by the
Interdesco company, a Eurovia subsidiary.
Two formulations, in a variety of colours, are available:
Resiplast IR 3360-400 and Resiplast IR 3360-100.
The process is suitable for waterproofing roof slabs and
intermediate floors of public and private car parks, and
can be directly trafficked.
Resiplast IR 3360-400, which has very high
elongation properties, is particularly appreciated as a
waterproofing for structures at major risk of cracking or
deformation. Its rapid polymerisation makes it easy to
apply to vertical surfaces.

Many AdVANTAGEs
Resiplast IR 3360-400 and IR 3360-100 differ
primarily in their speed of polymerisation and their
mechanical properties, particularly flexibility.
At 20°C and 10 mm/min, the elongation performance
of the two products is identical before and after
thermal shock.
application
expertise
Resiplast is always applied to a surface that has been
carefully prepared by grit blasting, sand blasting or
grinding. Substrate macrotexture (NF EN 13036-1)
must be less than 1 mm. The first layer of Resiplast is
a tack primer with a spread rate of 300 to 500 g/m2
,
depending on substrate porosity.
A polyurethane resin is used on a dry substrate, an
epoxy resin is used when the substrate is slightly
damp. Silica with a grading of about 1 mm is strewn
over this layer. The main constituent of the complex,
the actual waterproofing, is a 2.5 mm thick layer of
polyurethane resin.
Resiplast IR 3360-400 sets instantaneously at
high temperatures (50 to 70°C). It is sprayed by a
high-pressure mixing gun specially produced by the
Sept Résine company, a Eurovia subsidiary
Resiplast IR 3360-100 polymerises at ambient
temperatures. It is spread manually with a serrated
float. It can also be applied with a spray gun.
If the waterproofing is overlaid with an asphalt mix, a
tack coat of Resiplast IR 3360-100 is laid at a spread
rate of 600 to 700 g/m2
and gritted with 4 to
5 kg/m2
of 2/4 mm dry and clean materials to ensure
mechanical bonding to the asphalt mix.
If the waterproofing is to be directly trafficked, e.g. by
light vehicles (car parks) or pedestrians (footpaths),
an additional anti-skid surface dressing with suitably
graded aggregates is sufficient.
If the waterproofing is to remain visible, it is coated
with a polyurethane resin finishing (at 100 to
200 g/m2
) that is stable in ultra-violet light. The
equipment used to apply Resiplast does not require
road access to the worksite.
