Growth in Smartphone penetration and improvement in Internet speed in India provide opportunities for Over-the-Top (OTT) providers but the market is still in an emerging state
OTT services embraces a wide range of activity, including offering web-based services direct to consumers and offering IP-based video delivery to tablets and smartphones as part of a wider pay TV or broadband subscription.
With ad growth thrown into the mix, it’s apparent that every facet of the OTT market is expanding: advertising opportunities; popularity of OTT devices like Apple TV and Roku; and the amount of OTT content and services geared to break into the market.
Netflix belongs to the over-the-top (OTT) media industry and was founded in 1997 to offer online movie rentals before launching a subscription streaming service. It has since expanded globally and produced many original TV shows and movies. Netflix uses a functional organizational structure and faces competition from services like Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu. To continue its growth, Netflix's strategies include increasing original content, partnerships, expanding into new markets, and optimizing its pricing and marketing.
This document analyzes trends in the OTT market. It finds that broadband-only homes are growing and adopting multiple OTT services like Netflix and Hulu. Original content and large libraries are driving growth in SVOD services, while free ad-supported content is fueling the AVOD market. Younger consumers are watching less traditional TV and more content via connected devices like Roku and Fire TV, which are mirroring linear TV viewing patterns. There is an opportunity for an AVOD service that provides premium TV content and a wide library for free.
Pampers diapers were invented in 1956 by Victor Mills at Procter & Gamble. Over the following decades, Pampers introduced many innovations like adhesive tapes instead of pins in 1971. However, it faces threats from competitors and substitute products. To maintain its leadership, Pampers focuses on new innovations, marketing, and expanding its global reach.
The document discusses why Panama has become a logistics hub for perishable foods. It notes that Panama's strategic location provides easy access to over 3.5 billion people in Central America, the Caribbean, and countries along shipping routes through the Panama Canal. Several major global companies have established regional headquarters and distribution centers in Panama due to these advantages. It then describes the infrastructure and services provided by Galores Cold Storage and Damco in Panama to support perishable food logistics through cold storage, transportation, and supply chain management.
The document summarizes recent developments in the Port of Rio de Janeiro and the modernization of Brazilian ports. It notes that Rio de Janeiro was recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. It then discusses the port's role in promoting economic activity for Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais states over successive development cycles in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. It highlights how port modernization through private concessions has increased containerization rates from 20% in the 1970s to 70% currently in line with global trends, bringing significant increases in productivity.

The document discusses the strengths of the port of Guayaquil, Ecuador. It notes that according to Octavio Doerr, the main strength of the port is its location, as its river is close to the origin and destination of domestic markets. It also mentions that 15% of Ecuador's industry is located in Guayaquil province due to its large population and share of imports and exports. Finally, it lists other strengths like specialization in cargo traffic, lack of trade unions, proximity to major industry, and safety certification.
The document discusses why the port of Guayaquil, Ecuador is ranked 8th in the regional container movement ranking. Some key advantages that contribute to its ranking are its sheltered docks close to major industrial and consumption sites, and the skilled labor force. Infrastructure and equipment upgrades at the port, including new gantry and RTG cranes, have improved efficiency and reduced loading and unloading times to around 1.5 hours on average. These factors positioning the port competitively despite constraints like infrastructure and connectivity.

Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!
