Organization design is the process by which managers structure aspects of an organization's culture and structure to help it achieve its goals. Steve Jobs successfully used an abrasive culture at Apple and Pixar that created competition among teams and resulted in great performance and huge success for both companies. In contrast, Rana Kapoor encouraged an overactive and aggressive culture at Yes Bank that initially led to high activity but ultimately caused excessive risky loans and non-performing assets, leading to the bank's failure by 2020.

• Apple founder Steve Jobs used an abrasive culture
to create competition among his teams.
• Though his style was controversial, it resulted in
great performance.
• Both companies he started, Apple and Pixar went
on to become hugely successful.

4. FAILURE
• Rana Kapoor of Yes Bank encouraged a very active
and aggressive culture in his organization.
• Though this made Yes Bank one of the busiest in
2011, it lead to an excess accumulation of NPAs by
2020 leading to it's failure.
