Arizona became the 44th state on February 14, 1912, also known as Valentine's Day, with Phoenix as its capital city. It has more national parks than any other state, with the Grand Canyon as its most visited attraction and Oak Creek Canyon as the second most visited. Arizona has a population of over 5 million people and experiences hot desert temperatures around 128 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and cold mountain temperatures down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter.
