                         Outer Banks                The Outer Banks is the biggest attraction in North Carolina           It is home to many beaches a wonderful view of the ocean        The weather is fair and the surf is favorable        Is home to the famous town of Kitty Hawk        As well as many lighthouses and wild horses  
                   Kitty Hawk                            One of the biggest attractions   where Louis and Clark flew their first airplane that worked    Native Americans named the area originally "Chickehawk"     Has on it a famous woods called Kitty Hawk Woods
Outer Banks lighthouses           One of the big attractions are the historical lighthouses that are scattered about the island         There are eight different lighthouses that are in the Outer Banks but only seven are intact the eighth was reduced to ruins          One of the most prominent lighthouses is the cape Hatteras light station

              Nor th Carolina Flag May 20, 1861 was  the day that the seccesion resolution was  adopted by the st ate of North Carolina.   They origanally   w anted a completely diffrent design then they  have now,but they  voted and said that the design was too  difficult.
The Appalacian mountains              Running along the Northwest corner of North Carolina is the famous Appalacian mountain chain.            The mountains run through, seven states.            The Appalacians are most popular with hikers
        North Carolina State Bird the state bird is the cardinal.   selected by popular choice on March 4 ,  1943   Nick Name: Winter RedBird    Stays in North Carolina all year round   it will eat seeds,but it will eat small fruits occasonally.
Useful facts about North Carolina              The climate of North Carolina varies depending on the location and the time of year             The mountains have a cooler more crisp temperature while the beaches have a fair temperament all year long.             Their most exported vegetable is the sweet potatoe              There are currently 9,397,397 people living in North Carolina                The first battle of the civil war was fought at Fort Sumter.
              Geographic Location   North Carolina is located in the United States.   You will find it right over South Carolina and right under Virgina.   Because it is more towards the south there is not that much of a winter.     there are 52,669 square miles in North Carolina.  
       Big Colleges in North Carolina The most famous college in North Carolina are the Tar Heels.   Its located right beneith Raleigh,and to the right of Charolttes.    
Big cities in North Carolina    The Capital in North Carolina is Raleigh.              The Cities of Charlotte and Raleigh are the largest cities            Charolette has about 716,874 people             Raleigh has about 392,552 people             Greensboro is the next largest city  
State Nickname the states nickname is " Old North State".   they came up with this name from when they divided and made South Carolina and people would say how the northern part was so much older that they nicknamed it "Old North State".
