Marie Brosie Tepe Essay
Of all people, Marie Brose Tepe deserves the Eagle Award because of her bravery and patriotism.
Marie was a vivandiere, joined the 27th and the 114th Pennsylvania infantry , and fought in The
Battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg, for the Union troops, during the Civil
War. When fighting on the battlefield against the Confederacy, she healed many wounded soldiers
which were nearly within range of enemy fire. Nothing would stop her from helping others, not
even a bullet stuck in her ankle. Tepe was committed to being a vivandiere at only 27, following
her husband in the 27th Pennsylvania. She initially sold goods, such as contraband whiskey, to the
soldiers. She then left the regiment and joined the 114th Pennsylvania Infantry. Her monthly pay
was $21.45 for over two years. Then, some friction in the Paymaster s... Show more content on

Her main goal was to help and care for the wounded. During the battle, she and other nurses helped
to establish a field hospital. Sadly, while helping those in need, she caught a bullet in her left ankle.
Surprisingly, the raging pain from the bullet did not even stop her concentration towards helping
others, but later on, to her dismay, she was forced to receive treatment for her wound. After a short
hospitalization, she then rejoined the regiment, feeling the need to fight for her nation. Marie and
her regiment furthermore joined the fight at Gettysburg. When the battle was over, she volunteered
her services as a nurse to help the wounded. After a few weeks of tending to the injured, she
continued on with her regiment. Tepe served through the rest of the Civil War, taking more
importance into others. In conclusion, Marie Brose Tepe deserves this award for the following
reasons. She was a vivandiere, joined the 27th and 114th infantry, and she fought in the Battles of
Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, and Chancellorsville. She put

Women s Roles In Australian Society
It s arguable that through war, Australia has socially progressed; people developed looser morals
and women s roles in Australian society had elevated and changed drastically. During wartime in
Australia s early history, a majority of Australia s men sent off to help achieve victory for the
Allies in various campaigns, at the Homefront were the women of Australia work diligently, as
they were employed in jobs vacated for men. This was quite out of the ordinary as women have
traditionally been wives, nurturers, and house makers. As a result, the roles of women changed
dramatically, especially during WWII. Women now moved into jobs formerly dominated by men,
there were femalemembers in Parliament. Women no longer wanted to stay at home and

Health And Patient Education For Diabetic Foot Care
Population Health and patient education for diabetic foot care
Generally our population sees diabetes as a disease for people that can t eat sugar, but, those with
diabetes know it comes with some life changing events. Diabetes effects an estimated 29.1 million
Americans each day. Diabetes develops in one of two forms, Type one and Type two. Type one is
insulin dependent diabetes, where the body lacks production of insulin (Ignatavicius Workman,
2013). Type two diabetics are insulin resistant, affecting mostly adults (Ignatavicius Workman,
2013). Diabetes is a chronic illness that accounts for many comorbidities and complications to those
suffering from the disease. Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death from conditions including,
hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, heart attacks, stroke, blindness, kidney disease,
and amputations (American Diabetes Association, 2016). Management of these complications can
occur with proper education, health promotion, and prevention from the patient. Foot care and ulcer
prevention can reduce or eliminate complications suffered by diabetics; leading to infections
requiring hospitalization and the most serious amputations. Teaching this population or any
population about their healthcare needs and requirements can be difficult. Establishing the best
way to education will be explored within this paper. Throughout this paper the author will take a
look at daily foot care and prevention of ulcers. The paper will

What Does Cobie Cailop Try Essay
The standards society hold for women today are wiped away in Colbie Caillat s song Try. Caillat
uses simplicity and a contemporary music style in Try to convey the suffocation women feel
because they try to live up to these stereotypes in the 21st century. When Caillat wrote her song,
she used repetition of her lyrics to hit home the theme that women are beautiful inside and out.
Caillat stated in an interview that When you have a cute outfit on and your makeup looks
amazing, the first thing people comment on is your image . . . when you don t wear makeup,
you hear things like, Oh wow, you look tired or you re so brave for not wearing makeup! Caillat

We see all skin types, various ages, different races, and all the women stand in front of a plain
and drab background, putting them at the center of attention. Caillat starts out all dolled up and
then proceeds, along with the other women, to take off the makeup, and in some cases hair
extensions and a wig, to un Photoshop themselves. A lot of close up shots showed only their
faces, and side by side videos of before and after as the women wiped off their makeup with
solemn faces, but showed smiling or laughing faces when not wearing makeup. I saw relief in
their faces as they accepted themselves, and they showed the world their happiness as it literally
shined out of their faces like sunbeams. They stared directly into the camera, challenging it as
they sang along with Caillat s words. Although this song carries a strong body positivity message,
the imperfections bore proudly by the women in the video are the imperfections deemed
appropriate, or more common, to society such as being overweight, having a gap in between teeth,
frizzy hair, freckles, and wrinkles. The lighting was perfect and nobody s skin was oily, had any
acne, discoloration, or scars. Those imperfections society judges more because it is gross and easy
to point out. These women looked beautiful with and without makeup, but without they were
liberated and showed their true beauty and who they were. After watching the video all around the
world, people understand how society s expectations make women feel

What Is The Distribution Strategy Of Maruti Suzuki
DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY OF MARUTI SUZUKI INDIA LIMITED
Distribution is an important marketing mix. Distribution strategy of a firm is a plan created by
the management of a manufacturing business that specifies how the firm wishes to transfer its
products to intermediaries, retailers and end consumers. In earlier days the consumers used to

was non existent. Even worse thing was the state of the after sales service. With an objective to
change this scenario to offer better service to customers, Maruti took initiative. To gain competitive

Photos Are Different Frames From A Video Of My Friend
Description:
This series of photos are different frames from a video of my friend doing a kick flip on the
sidewalk of the high school we went to. In the first frame you can see how he crouches down in
order to get a more explosive jump. In the second frame he shifts his weight to his right foot in
order to jump off this foot, so he can propel himself up. In the third frame and fourth frame you
see the board touch the ground as he jumps of it and slides his left foot up to the spot where he
will kick the board. The board launches up after it hits the ground, and as this happens he
completes the kick with his right foot in order to cause the board to spin. In frames five and six

Friction is also important because it s what the skateboarder must use to control the board s rotation
when generating a second torque to spin the board. Lastly, an understanding of inertia is necessary
to understand how the trick comes to completion.
Explanation:
In order to do any skateboard tick the Ollie must first be used. This is the foundation to all
skateboard tricks, since this allows you to get off the ground. Before the Ollie can be explained it
s paramount to understand Newton s three laws. The first law sates: an object continues in a state
of rest or in a state of motion at a constant velocity (constant speed in a constant direction), unless
compelled to change that state by a net force. Sometimes this law is referred to as the law of
inertia, where inertia is explained as being the natural tendency of an object to remain at rest or in
motion at a constant velocity. The second law states that: when a net external force acts on an
object of mass m, the acceleration that results is directly proportional to the net force and has a
magnitude that is inversely proportional to the mass. The direction of the acceleration is the same
as the direction of the net force. Lastly, the third law states: Whenever one object exerts a force on
a second object, the second object exerts an oppositely directed force of equal magnitude on the
first object. By knowing these three laws we can

To What Extent Did The Union Win The Civil War
The Union s layout for winning the war included several main strategies. Utilizing its superior navy,
the North would blockade Southern ports to prevent supplies from reaching the South, as well as to
impede the South from earning revenue by exporting cotton. Cotton remained a significant factory
in the establishment of slaveryand South s agricultural economic system. Raw materials, especially
cotton were shipped to a textile mill in the North but the majority of what the South produced was
exported. Gaining control of the Mississippi River was another significant and necessary Union
strategy as it would fracture Southern lines. Finally, the North planned to capture Richmond, the
Confederate capital. The South s primary aim was to maintain

The Sports Supplement Industry Is Rapidly Growing And...
The Sports Supplement industry is rapidly growing and making an enormous profit off of their
products when most of them don t even work anyway. Forbes has stated that the supplement
industry took in $32 billion dollars in 2012. The Nutritional Business Journal projects that the
number will jump to $60 billion dollars by the year 2021. The reason I want to share this is
because you can save so much money by not buying supplements or if you do then just purchase
the ones that have actual scientific proof to benefit you. I like many people have been a victim
of the supplement industry. I was baited in just like everyone else with the guaranteed lean
muscle gains or rapid fat burn . The outrageous claims are everywhere! If you go through a
muscle magazine, every page is an advertisement telling you that to get big and ripped, you must
purchase this hot new supplement. They re all lies! Luckily for me, I did not spend years and
years of buying supplements and wasting my money. After about a year of buying supplements that
I thought would work, I started to become educated on the topic and haven t wasted money on
supplements since. Once you find out the truth about supplements you will never waste your
money and time on useless products again. Let s start off with the supplements that actually do
work and are worth purchasing if you have the money and desire for sports supplements. Protein
powder and creatine. That s it. It s a short list and makes you question why sports

Walt Disney s famous movies that are considered as a Family Friendly movie. In this research

The challenge of producing William Shakespeare s most celebrated tragedy, Hamlet, has fascinated
stage artists for centuries and filmartists for almost as long as film has existed (Sterritt 1997).This

and enthusiastic pattern. It also shows how Simba s cartoon connects with Hamlet s play from
many aspects. However, Simba s life was different from Hamlet in

Pro Tobacco Advertising
Although tobacco advertisements are banned, people still consume it. The ban started in 1971
and since then has become even more strict on the sponsoring and promotion of tobacco brand
logos. Now, all tobacco ads used, dissuade users from consuming. Advertisements in general can
be obnoxious and tiresome, but they are sometimes necessary for the seller to get their point
across. Ads are either trying to get money from the consumer or driving to change a person s mind
positively. The main reasoning for the creation of advertisements is to persuade the viewer or
audience through the evocation of ethos, pathos, and logos, to have a change of mind about the
product. The ads I chose are both similar, but have different goals towards their audience.... Show

This ad has an emotional appeal to the audience, as the result of both objects is not something
people really look forward to: death. Of course, nobody wants to die, its only human nature.
Looking at this ad, the viewer might start questioning him or herself emotionally, thinking about
the loved ones around them. In the end it will only hurt the people who care for them. A simple
yet powerful logical appeal towards its audience is accomplished ambiguously or dualistically. I
think it questions the viewer or smoker rationally, why they would want a slow and painful death.
The viewer can choose to die quick or slow , either option, you re going to die so you might as
well choose the bullet, a fast and less painful choice. But that is not what it is suggesting, it seems
to be getting at the point that death by either choice is unnecessary and ignorant of the user.
This type of advertisement is selfless in that it seeks to achieve satisfaction from the possibility of
stopping its intended audience from smoking and nothing more. It even asks at the bottom of the
picture if the individual needs help. Following up with a smokeline expresses concern for the
person. In its design, the layout has a depressing background. This gloomy image is possibly
representing what comes along with each deed. A glowing white font captures the viewer s eyes,
but is present to sort of highlight and make it clear that the

Richard Van Camp s The Night Charles Bukowski Died
When defining the term manhood , many people may use terms such as courage, strength, or
bravery. Throughout history there have been many pressures on men to be as stereotypically
manly as possible. If men don t conform to those stereotypes, they may be looked down upon by
society as a whole. Richard Van Camp s short story The Night Charles BukowskiDied is a prime
example of the dangers of nonconformity to stereotypically manly traits. The story is an intense
first person stream of consciousness from the point of view of an unnamed narrator that follows
the narrator and three of his peers: Mikey, Jason, and Scott. The use of metaphor, point of view,
and setting in The Night Charles Bukowski Died exposes how stereotypical expectations of
manhood can lead to dangerous situations not only physically, but also socially and emotionally.
Van Camp makes use of metaphor to compare three distinct situations in the story relating to
manhood to animals. When Jason and the narrator are encouraging Mikey to be strong, the
narrator tells a brief story of an elder who was courageous enough to stand between a grizzly bear
and his grandson with just an ax and an attitude of surrender being completely out of the question
(33). In this situation, the narrator is doing his best to instill a fighting attitude in Mikey instead of
just letting him accept that Scott is bullying him. Later in the story as the narrator, Jason, and
Mikey are about to beat up Scott, the narrator recalls a lion

What Is The Mood Of The Poem The Passionate Christopherd...
The Passionate Shepherd to His Love : Christopher Marlowe in The Passionate Shepherd to His
Love, utilizes rhyming couplets to emphasize imagery of beauty. At the beginning of the poem, the
speaker begins by introducing the reader to the idea that being in love, and then going to live with
the speaker would be a romantic ideal. He does this by emphasizing fields, love, and roses which
can be seen as images of nature and freedom. The emphasis of roses, puts stress on an idealized
view of love, as roses are commonly used to represent it. The fields also give the impression of
having a wide open space with all the time in the world. Love , though, is emphasized three times
in the play as a rhyme at the end of line. Once in the beginning and twice towards the end. Ending
stanzas with love also shows that love is of utmost importance, and grows within the poem.

Health Care Reform For The United States
Many ways are used to measure how much Americans values life. Obviously, good health is a
major factor of being happy and satisfied with an Americans life. People also place family and
friends very high on the list of value for health care insurance. Health care has become the stress
to every person s life. Health care controls everything a person does due to the drawbacks of not
having it when it is necessary; like breaking an arm or coming down with a deathly illness. With
these issues, it is said that reforms are on their way. Health care reform will be on the agenda for
future sessions of Congress, because the economic pressures of rising health care costs on the
federal government, business, and individuals are not going to abate (King). Health care has
become a pain for many reasons. It takes up time, money, and security. Having health care in the
United Statesis a necessity; without this many hospitals do not admit a patient or, if done so, the
patient becomes flooded with bills for everything. But just because health care is a necessity in the
United States does not mean it comes easily. With so much that goes into health care, loads of

Abstract
This article studies a novel approach to improve membrane separation eciency { application of
external physical in uence (temperature dierence across the membrane). Oppositely directed
pressure and temperature gradients in membrane establish a molecular exchange ow when two
components of the binary gas mixture ow in the opposite directions through the membrane. The

membrane channels) solution of the linearized Boltz mann equation is used. At macroscale
(external part of the device) the system of Navier Stokes equations for two component gas mixture
is solved using nite volume method adopted for low Mach number limit. Dependence of device
eciency on all of the dening parameters is studied and comparison with previous numerical
simulation of the device is made. The key feature of the device is that it can produce output gas

Genetic Factors To The Development Of Breast Cancer
You probably know at least one person who has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Breast Cancer
is the most common cancer for women in the United States. Although more common in women, this
cancer can also be found in men. The abnormal development of breast tissue cells ultimately
generates Breast Cancer. However, there are many different things that can provoke these cells to
develop.
Even today, scientists are still unsure about all the factors that cause Breast Cancer. So that is why
research continues to be done to find reasons as to why it is being developed and different ways to
prevent it. They have discovered that breast cancer can be affected by both environmental and
genetic factors. In addition to that, doctors do know that there are a few specific gene mutations
that exist that are linked to Breast Cancer. Mutated genes can be acquired through life and some
of these genes can create Breast Cancer. Some other common causes are the regular consumption
of alcohol, the regular smoking of cigarettes, and being very overweight. Being exposed to the
hormone estrogen for longer amounts of time is also very common in the development of Breast
Cancer. This happens when menstruation lasts after the age of 50 and starts before the age of 12.
Some doctors also believe that irradiation in the chest due to previous issues and treatments can
also lead to cancer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

is as dark as night and makes the sunlook like a ring of fire high in the sky. During a solar eclipse,
many things can happen that one would be astonished by observing such as, the actual object,
changes in the atmosphere, animals and people s behavior, and emotional and sensual feelings. The
object that appeared in the sky had everyone s attention and concentration, not only that day, but
weeks before. Everyone had been talking about the upcoming solar eclipse. Teachers planned
lessons, and posters lined the walls to inform students of expectations and safety measures. A solar
eclipse, an event appealing to the eye, is an unforgettable phenomenon that can leave someone with
the experience of a lifetime.
On the day of the eclipse, the view of the sun was oddly bright and dim. The sky was as bright as
a sun rise early in a summer s morning. It was so bright I was tempted, yet scared to look at it.
The whole Middleton High School separated to go outside and watch the eclipse in different areas.
The location where we watched the eclipse only allowed us to see the moon partially blocking the
sun. We all saw the sun slowly lose its rays as the moon raced to appear in front. Although the total

Erysipelas or St. Anthony s Fire and Aetiology are Painful...
Description
Erysipelas, also referred to as St. Anthony s fire, is a rapid bacterial skin infection involves the
dermis and hypodermis of the skin that result with severe pain and systemic symptoms (Kilbum,
Featherstone, Higgins Brindle, 2010). As O Connor Paauw (2010) described, it is presented mostly
with shiny and erythematous plaque, well demarcated and indurated.
Erysipelas commonly occurred in the legs, 90% of the cases, then involves in the face which have a
characteristic butterfly distribution on both cheeks and nose follows by arms and thighs
(Bonnetblanc Bedane, 2003; Linder, Johansson, Thulin, Hertzen, Morgelin, Christensson,
...Akesson, 2010; Davis, Cole Benbenisty, 2012).
The typical symptoms are include,
пЃ¬fever, chills and shaking
пЃ¬malaise
пЃ¬red, firm, swollen skin
пЃ¬marked lesion with raised border or blisters
пЃ¬burning pain, pruritus, tenderness and sore
пЃ¬swollen glands
Aetiology
Streptococci, streptococcus pyogenes, is the predominant cause which group A affects mostly on
facial infections and non group A affects the lower extremity (Gunderson Martinello, 2012). These
toxins are contributing the rapid inflammation which they normally live on body surface without
causing problem, then once they penatrated via tinea pedia or eczema that causes the skin breakage
and developing erysipelas (Gabillot Carre Roujeau, 2007).
The possible risk factors are,

Migrations And Belongs, By Dirk Hoerder
The book, Migrations and Belongs, written by Dirk Hoerder, dealt with the experiences people
faced as they migrated in voluntary and involuntary migrations. Chapter four, Migrations during
War and Depression focused mainly on forced migrations. This chapter dealt with the fact that
after World War I, people were forced out of their homes. There was a new concept that was
emerging and becoming increasing popular, the concept of nationalization. People wanted their
country to consist only of the people of that origin. They wanted the un mixing of people which led
to widespread involuntary mass migration. There were such places that were open to new
immigrants such as the Soviet Union, but places like Germany and France for example wanted...

Hitler and the Nazis were able to round up thousands of Jews and ship them off without them
fighting back. I assume it was a similar tactic. It seems similar to today when government officials
try to crack down on illegal immigration by rounding up the undocumented immigrants and
deporting them. I do not even know if they try to send them back to the country they came from or
just send them to Mexico. If the person is not even from Mexico the whole situation would be even
more disconcerting.
Chapter five, The Aftermath of War and Decolonization was basically a conclusion to the entire
book and an explanation of what happened in terms of migration after World War II. Hoerder
stated that after World War II ended, two major migrations took place. First, the migrations of
refugees, prisoners of war, forced laborers, and soldiers. The second migration involved laborers
to rebuild the destroyed countries of Europe. Those who were forced to move or flee during the
war wanted to go back home, the problem was, many of their homes were destroyed. People
needed to rebuild their communities so their life could resume. Families moved together but
heartbreakingly many of those families were female led because fathers and husbands were killed
in the war.
This chapter was bitter sweet. It was good that the country was rebuilding after the disaster left by
World War II and that families could return; the heartbreaking part was that the families were
returning missing

The Importance Of Family Dynamics
Over the last 50 years, the meaning of family has changed and people of today s world struggle
to define family. Henslin et al (2014), defines family as two or more people who consider
themselves related by blood, marriage or adoption (p. 428). Due to the changes, this has also had
an impact on family dynamics, which is now seen as complex. FamilyDynamics has been defined as
the patterns of relating, or interactions, between family members (Psychologytoday.com,
healthychildren.org 2017). These concepts are everlasting; therefore, they develop as society does.
Family dynamics are ever changing by improving or disadvantaging today s community. The family
has changed in multiple ways from 50 years ago such as the roles of members of the family and the
structure of families. The difference between families then and now is more prominent in the
modern Australian society.
The roles of parents and children have changed such as who is the leader, caretaker, provider. 50
years ago, the father was the dominant one in the family (Henslin 2014 p. 429 Brandth, B,
Halrynjo, S Kvande, E 2017). Traditionally the father would be the one who would support the
family financially. And the women s role would be to do the housework, take care of the kids
and cook (Henslin 2014 p. 432 Brandth, B, Halrynjo, S Kvande, E 2017). Whereas, now the
Australian parents are slowly becoming equal (Henslin 2014 p. 430). They are becoming equal as
there are now men are now spending approximately

Survive Cheer Practice
How to Survive Cheer Practice
Cheerleading practice can be harder than someone might think, whether you are new to cheer or
if you have been doing it all your life. Just getting through conditioning can tire the body out.
Also, all those chants and dances can fill the brain up to the brim. Memorizing all of them takes
practice. Here are some ways to survive cheer practice. First, before practice even starts try not
to eat to much. Bingeing on fatty foods before practice can cause severe consequences during
practice, like vomiting. Try to eat a healthy snack, like a banana or an apple. A banana before a
workout will help keeps nutrient levels high. They keep the body energized for a long period of
time; unlike sugar which only gives a buzz of energy for a couple of minutes and then tires the

Persuasive Essay On Public Transportation
Imagine yourself sitting in traffic, you are just in your car and the engine is just going and gas
is being wasted and the fumes coming out which pollute our environment. You look out and see
that it is still bumper to bumper on I 680 going to work, you are stressing out because you might
be late for work. Then when you go back home, it s the same bumper to bumper traffic. All this
time you could have just been with your family, helping your kids with their homework, or work
on something for your job. Traffic is a major issue for 21st century cities, it is hurting our
economy and our environment. One solution to this is a major issue is to invest in public
transportation and encourage more people to ride public transportation. I am calling for the
Federal Transportation Administration, state, and local governments to invest more in public
transportation and spread the awareness of public transportation. Public transportation is
beneficial to our communities by providing a solution to traffic and the havoc it causes on our
lives. Public transportation can carry way more people per hour at full capacity than the typical
single commuter car. Freeways with cars that carry on average 1.2 persons per car in medium
traffic (around 30 mph) will only carry 1,080 people per hour. At max, a freeway can carry 1,800
cars per hour and that only results in 5,400 passengers per hour if there were 3 passengers per car.
Compare that to the average heavy rail (BART, NYC Subway, MBTA) train

How Tina Fey Changed Our Lives
All these places have their moments. With lovers and friends I still can recall. Some are dead
and some are living. In my life, I ve loved them all (The Beatles, In My Life). Us humans spend
our time in the world as voyagers on an endless journey. Our curiosity propels us into new,
exhilarating situations that result in more mistakes, more mishaps, and more memories as a result
of it. Without these mementos that are tucked away in our minds, who would we be? What would
become of us? It is these moments in life, whether pleasurable or painful, that mold us into the
individuals we are.
In her book, Bossypants, Tina Fey speaks about her journey through the entertainment industry,
and says, I know that on that first writing night, I completely froze up. I sat at my computer from
one p.m. Tuesday afternoon until nine a.m. Wednesday morning and nothing came out. . . I d
been improvising with five other people every night for two years (Fey, 133). Tina Fey began
working with Saturday Night Live in 1997. Since then, she has produced unforgettable skits such

Examples Of Cognitive Dissonance Theory
Defining who you are is always such an arduous task. I never know what to say and I always draw
a blank when I m put on the spot. I never know what to say because I never really put too much
thought into defining myself. It s usually just something that you don t think about too much
because honestly it s pretty difficult. Luckily there are theories that propose many ideas that help
me define myself. Theories such as the Symbolic Interaction theory, cognitive dissonancetheory,
expectancy violations theory, and temperament. These four theories are each very different but they
can all be used to help define who a person is. They propose reasoning and thought behind the ways
we behave, communicate, and feel. What we might think to be... Show more content on

Cognitive dissonance can formally be defined as feeling of discomfort resulting from inconsistent
attitudes, thoughts and behaviors, ( Communication 90). We will have a feeling of discomfort if
new informations doesn t fit with what we already know and we will take many steps to reduce it (
Communication 90). We do this mainly because we seek psychological consistencies and that
feeling of discomfort can lead us to changing our attitudes and behaviors ( Communication 93). For
example, when we try and keep dissonance from happening we will either ignore the different views
that are presented, change either our views or the other person s views depending on the situation,
or trying to reassure ourselves after making a big decision ( Communication 92). Dissonance also
comes in different forms of impact. We will take into account how severe the situation is before
making a final decision, or the magnitude of the situation ( Communication 94). The magnitude is
how much dissonance is felt ( Communication 94). We take the account of magnitude in by looking
at importance, ratio, and rationale of the situation ( Communication 94 95). Importance is how
significant we see the situation to be (95). The last two parts are ratio, the dissonant cognitions
compared to the consonant cognitions, and rationale which is what we decide the reason behind the
dissonance is ( Communication 95). With the cognitive dissonance theory there are different ways
in which we can perceive information and that help us reduce dissonance ( Communication 96). The
four perception types are selective exposure, selective attention, selective interpretation, and
selective retention ( Communication 96). The first perception is selective exposure which can be
defined as looking at the information the we want to ( Communication 96). The

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Viva La Vida
Titanium This song relates specifically to the scene at the end where he stands up for himself
by refusing to give back his signature. They attempt to coax him into handing it over and signing
it in order to convict the other people holding out. Then at the last moment he takes a stand for
himself and the others by defying the court and being hanged... He let there empty threats
ricochet of him as he stands defiant against the evil and corruption of the court. When he
answers, I did not when asked if he saw anyone else with him, he is standing up for for his
friends and protecting them. This parallels to the general tone of the song and strongly relates to
the lyrics, I m criticized but all your bullets ricochet You shoot me down, but I get up I m
bulletproof nothing to lose Fire away, fire away .
Viva La VidaViva La Vida is a song of remembrance for a time when the King of France had real
authority and now he is washed up and no longer respected. This directly reflects the loss of
authority that occurs throughout the story as Hale loses respect. Hale goes from the de facto
authority on witchcraft and a chief member of the Salem court... to a person who s pleas and
reasoning is dismissed. This is shown in two quotes that represent him at the beginning and the
end; these quotes are, There be no unnatural causes here. Tell him I have sent for Reverend Hale

Crimes against Humanity Examples in the Nuremberg Trials
Perhaps some of the most popular examples of crimes against humanity are those that were
investigated during the Nuremberg trials, which took position from 1945 to 1949. The very
objective of these 13 trials was to try Nazi Party officials, and also the German doctors, and
businessmen, lawyers who were linked with them, for the crimes they had done against humanity
during WWII. The trials became historic for buildup precedent in how international courts should
deal with facts like genocide and other examples of crimes against humanity.
These crimes start shortly after Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany in 1933. With the Nazi
government, Hitler made and carried out policies designed to persecute the Jews, and anyone else
that he suppose to be a threat to his vision of a perfect Nazi state. Hitler s policies continued to
become more and more threat until World War II at last ended in 1945. By that point, it is
estimated that the Nazis had, with the grant of their government, killed approximately six million
Jews, and between four and six million non Jews.

The Problem Of Fertility Treatment
Fertility treatment is utilized when a couple is not able to conceive naturally. Most commonly, the
underlying problem could be medical. For instance, a woman may not be ovulating or a man may
not be producing enough amount of or healthy sperm.Depending on the causative problem, various
forms of treatment are offered different to the couples. Usually, couples try treatments for many
months or even years . However, these are not always effective. In addition , these treatments can
be quite costly. However, if successful , these can bring pleasure and happiness in the lives of the
struggling couples. The following options may be available for childless couples: IVF(In Vitro

The issue of infertility can be heart wrenching specifically for couples who have wanted to have

the Ukranian shtetl Skvyra. The naming of the town New Square was a typist s error. Like other
Chasidic communities in New York, the Skverer village was created by Holocaust survivors
determination to preserve a Jewish way of life coupled with a need to not perish, perhaps at all
cost. In the case of New Square, the cost is near fanaticism. The practices of Hasidic sects vary

Baltimore Riots
When it rains, it pours; and where tragedy strikes, a war will follow. This is what comes to mind
when the subject of Baltimore arises. The unexpected death of a young Baltimore man, Freddie
Gray, while in police custody, sparked the flame in the city s ongoing rage and riots. Autopsy
reports showed signs of high energy injury as the cause of death, suggesting neglect from the
arresting officers (New York Times, 2015). When information was leaked of this tragedy, people in
the community were negatively affected, and many began to riot. At this point, the question is not
how to stop the rioting, but how to prevent it?
In order to prevent such a widespread, repetitive tragedy, we must look deep into the roots of a

This is directly linked to the lack of well paying jobs and education. People in these
underprivileged communities, most of the time, lack the financial stability to be able to
achieve a successful education. Some are forced to drop out of school to work and care for their
families (Beilenson and McGuire, 2012). The US Census did report, from 2009 through 2013,
80.2% of the population, ages 25 and older, had graduated from high school; 26.8% had achieved
at least a Bachelor s degree (US Census, 2015). Are the riots partly a cry for help from the poor?
Maybe this is the attention that the people of Baltimore think they need in order to show the world
of their deficiencies, especially the city s youth (MSNBC News, 2015). There is also the
consideration of outsiders coming into the community to take advantage of a hurting and crumbling
city (MSNBC News, 2015). Most of these outsiders are wanting representation of the movement for
their lives, using the riots as their voices (MSNBC News, 2015). The rioting is destroying the city
of Baltimore, only receiving negative attention. Instead of helping the community and building a
strong, safe protester union, the unlawful riots are only building distrust, in turn hurting the

Morality And The Moral Theories
Meaning of the phrases пїЅthe ends justifies the means The phrase пїЅthe ends justifies the means
is a very popular in many fields and is also used in our day to day living. However, it is more
used when talking about morality issues whereby it means that the morality of an action or
behavior depends entirely on the result of that action and not the behavior or action itself. This
is phrase that can be viewed different by proponent of different moral theories. A
consequentialist theorist will agree with this phrase. For example, if one tells a lie to save the
other person from grief, the action of telling the eye is viewed as good. Another example is
whereby a person kills the other in order to save the others. The two actions though they may be
viewed as going against the moral values in the society will be viewed as right because they
lead to positive results, meaning that the ends justifies the means. In overall, what it means is
that it does not matter the means used to achieve certain goals regardless of how bad or violent
they may be. On the other hand, a deontologist would hold the killing as wrong regardless as to
whether the results are positive or negative. This means that there are actions or behaviors that
are wrong no matter what. For example, like in the above examples, regardless of whether lying
saves another person grief or killing a person saves other people lives, those two actions are wrong
regardless of their positive results (Waller, 2005). An informed

Wilhelm argues that we need to make choices seriously in order to have a self. We would lose

The Importance Of Stereotypes In Maya Angelou s Poetry
Maya Angelou s poetry supports female defiance of stereotypes. The poem Phenomenal Woman
presents a female speaker who defies stereotypes in multiple ways. First, the speaker notes that she
lacks traditional aspects of female beauty, though still has power to draw men to her through her
womanhood and sexuality, as previously discussed. Secondly, the speaker, who can be assumed to
be Angelou, places men on their knees, in positions of servility to her, which contrasts the usual
patriarchal scenario with a womansubject to a man (18). Also, when describing her immediate
effect on a crowded room the speakers says, Then they swarm around me, / A hive of honey bees.
Her metaphor compares men to a hive of honey bees, an unflattering... Show more content on

The same position appears in, Shoulders falling down like teardrops, which uses a simile to
describe a physical position of the speaker diminishing herself through comparison to falling
tears (15). The image of tears falling adds to the confusion and shock of the speaker when she
considers that a man would prefer her in this state. The speaker rhetorically asks the oppressors,
likely male and white given Angelou s background, if they prefer her with a broken spirit and lack
of confidence, implying that the speaker will not give up and give the male oppressor the power
over her that he wants. Such defiance of patriarchal stereotypes marks Angelou s feminism in her

In the area of, Ashford University and Clinton Iowa, tornadoes can occur at any time, but
primarily occur between the months of April through October. Tornadoes can be the most brutal
of storms. Winds speeds can reach speeds nearing 300 miles per hour and can destroy anything in
its path. Tornadoes form rapidly and can travel for miles along the ground and lift up from the
ground, and then suddenly change directions and touchdown again! There is little you can do to
protect your property from a direct hit by a tornado; however, many actions can be taken to protect
you and your family.
2.All campus buildings are equipped with a NOAA weather radio which broadcasts news of
tornado watches and warnings.
3.5 Outdoor Warning Sirens sometimes referred to as Tornado Sirens, are used in warning citizens
who are outdoors about impending danger. In Clinton County there are two main siren systems that
cover the all incorporated cities within Clinton County as well as several unincorporated areas.
Both the sirens that are part of the siren system located within the 10 Mile Emergency Planning
Zone or EPZ, for the Cordova Nuclear Plant, and the siren system installed and maintained by the
Clinton County Emergency Management Commission are part of a cohesive system that can be
activated in a uniform manner. All of the sirens can be sounded individually, in groups, or activated
throughout the county.

A Two-Decade Crusade
The author, Robert O Harrow Jr., wrote A Two Decade Crusade by Conservative Charities Fueled
Trump s Exit from Paris Climate Accord , an article for The Washington Post.
His reason was to inform the public on a person who had influence on President Trump s decision
to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord.
The facts of this article is that a man named Myron Ebell was the leader of a foundation that
persuaded Trump to pull out of the Accord. For nearly two decades, he worked for the Cooler
Heads Coalition, a group centered around the purpose to put doubt into people s minds about the
dangers of global warming. From coal and oil companies, the group received $11 million in
donations. Edell and several other members of the coalition were ... Show more content on

This article, coming from a relatively liberal news source, is mildly slanted. The audience of the
article would be those who are liberal as it informs the reader of what the people were like that
influenced Trump in his decisions. Concerning Trump, liberals tend to care more about who takes a
part in his decisions and actions and this is more fitted to their needs.
While lacking extreme bias, this article has spin. One example from the article is when while the
Competitive Enterprise Institute was working to save the jobs here in America by keeping the
coal mining industry, the group was also given $11 million in donations. After a disaster in 2010
resulting in the death of 29 miners, it is should not be a surprise that Ebell continued to work for
companies that supported jobs in the coal industry. He was working for a company that was being
given millions in donations by companies whose jobs were at risk during Obama s attempt to rid
the United States of its coal industry.
There are no stated opinions in the article since this article was mostly factual.
There was bias in this article, specifically geared more towards liberals and showing a lot of
negatives about the kinds of groups he has previously worked for and the companies and ideas he
has strived for, a lot of which liberals are against.
Robert O Harrow Jr is a reliable author and his work can be trusted. His main

Difference Between Goodwill And Impairment
Introduction
Goodwill and impairment is very well related in accounting concept, impairment is a concept in
accounting that explains stable reduction in value of asset (Dauang ploy,O.,Shelton,M.,
Omer,K.,2005). To calculate impairment loss it is essential to de cide the amount of value in use,
and this involve the calculation of the cash flows which are supposed to be produced from the use
of assets. Goodwill can only be recognised when it is obtain in business combination.
Impairment
Impairment is a concept in accounting that explains stable reduction in value of asset.
Total profit and cash flow are expected to be produce by certain asset which is occa sionally
contrasted with book value. If the book value is more than cash flow of the asset, the remaining
amount should be written off and the value should be rejected from the balance sheet
(Dauangploy,O.,et. al.,2005). If the carrying amount is more than recoverable amount, it can
indicate the loss of impairment. Then the recover able amounts need to be written down. There are
two different models to recognise impairment, cost model and revaluation model. Impairment loss
in cost model can be recognised directly in profit or loss. In revaluation model asset is measured in
its fair value and impairment loss is recognised as descending revaluation.
Impairment loss, Cash Generating Unit¬¬¬¬¬¬
To calculate impairment loss it is essential to decide the amount of value in use, and this involve
the calculation of the cash flows which are supposed to be produced from the use of assets.
Though, some assets don t produce cash flow by itself. This is the reason why the cash flow is
increasing due to the combination of few assets together. In other word, car used by sales person
does not produce cash flow by itself (Sun,L., Zhang,J.,2017). When the asset can not generate cash
flow by itself it is necessary to group them and it is called cash generating unit . Cash generating
unit is the smallest recognisable group of assets that brings cash inflow.
At the end of the period after identifying what is Cash Generating unit is, manage ment need to
figure out if impairment is occur or not. If there is possibility of impair ment, calculation of
recoverable amount of the

Virtue In Hamlet
This quote, in the literal sense, begs for one to be true to one s self, as someone who is not true to
himself is false. This sentiment expressed by Polonius becomes seemingly incongruous with the
events and judgments made throughout the play, as the theme of deceit reigns over that of virtue.
While the play progresses, the characters demonstrate a growing struggle for virtueand lose the
power to be true to their own selves, thus compromising their abilities to uphold justice. As
actualities regarding King Hamlets death become apparent, either truthfulness and virtue, or the
ability to maintain justice is compromised. This concept is especially present in considering
Hamlet s pursuit of revenge for his father s death. His erratic and ineffective... Show more content

Throughout the play, granted his pensive and emotional nature, Hamlet does eventually evolve
due to much moral and virtuous growth, and while he never reaches the standards of a prince
qualified to oversee a nation, he does outgrow the role of the politically subordinate fawner.
Internal growth occurred when Hamlet finally learned to differentiate between his true self in
relation to his perception of self. His initial fits of madness and antic dispositions made this
differentiation vaguer, as these episodes had called into question his mental stability. When
presented on a public platform, Hamlet s stability seemed to be deteriorating; however, in
reviewing his introspective side, its clear that he feels great pain due to his father s death, as
demonstrated by his constant contemplation surrounding how he can best handle the situation. It is
when Hamlet discovers his sense of self that he develops a sense of virtue that begins to allow him
to exhibit both characteristics of integrity and justice; however, it is not until the accidental murder
of his mother that Hamlet develops the motivation of social justice in conjunction with virtue. This
being said, the struggle for a balance of justice and virtue does not occur until Hamlet feels that he
has contributed to upholding social justice by convicting those responsible for their crimes. This
notion of imbalance is especially present in Hamlet s plan to get revenge for his father s

Friction is also important because it s what the skateboarder must use to control the board s rotation when generating a second torque to spin the board. Lastly, an understanding of inertia is necessary to understand how the trick comes to completion. Explanation: In order to do any skateboard tick the Ollie must first be used. This is the foundation to all skateboard tricks, since this allows you to get off the ground. Before the Ollie can be explained it s paramount to understand Newton s three laws. The first law sates: an object continues in a state of rest or in a state of motion at a constant velocity (constant speed in a constant direction), unless compelled to change that state by a net force. Sometimes this law is referred to as the law of inertia, where inertia is explained as being the natural tendency of an object to remain at rest or in motion at a constant velocity. The second law states that: when a net external force acts on an object of mass m, the acceleration that results is directly proportional to the net force and has a magnitude that is inversely proportional to the mass. The direction of the acceleration is the same as the direction of the net force. Lastly, the third law states: Whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an oppositely directed force of equal magnitude on the first object. Advertisements in general can be obnoxious and tiresome, but they are sometimes necessary for the seller to get their point across. Ads are either trying to get money from the consumer or driving to change a person s mind positively. A simple yet powerful logical appeal towards its audience is accomplished ambiguously or dualistically. I think it questions the viewer or smoker rationally, why they would want a slow and painful death. The viewer can choose to die quick or slow , either option, you re going to die so you might as well choose the bullet, a fast and less painful choice. But that is not what it is suggesting, it seems to be getting at the point that death by either choice is unnecessary and ignorant of the user. This type of advertisement is selfless in that it seeks to achieve satisfaction from the possibility of stopping its intended audience from smoking and nothing more. It even asks at the bottom of the picture if the individual needs help. Following up with a smokeline expresses concern for the person. In its design, the layout has a depressing background. • 16. Richard Van Camp s The Night Charles Bukowski Died When defining the term manhood , many people may use terms such as courage, strength, or bravery. Throughout history there have been many pressures on men to be as stereotypically manly as possible. If men don t conform to those stereotypes, they may be looked down upon by society as a whole. Richard Van Camp s short story The Night Charles BukowskiDied is a prime example of the dangers of nonconformity to stereotypically manly traits. The story is an intense first person stream of consciousness from the point of view of an unnamed narrator that follows the narrator and three of his peers: Mikey, Jason, and Scott. The use of metaphor, point of view, and setting in The Night Charles Bukowski Died exposes how stereotypical expectations of manhood can lead to dangerous situations not only physically, but also socially and emotionally. Van Camp makes use of metaphor to compare three distinct situations in the story relating to manhood to animals. When Jason and the narrator are encouraging Mikey to be strong, the narrator tells a brief story of an elder who was courageous enough to stand between a grizzly bear and his grandson with just an ax and an attitude of surrender being completely out of the question (33). In this situation, the narrator is doing his best to instill a fighting attitude in Mikey instead of just letting him accept that Scott is bullying him. • 25. Migrations And Belongs, By Dirk Hoerder The book, Migrations and Belongs, written by Dirk Hoerder, dealt with the experiences people faced as they migrated in voluntary and involuntary migrations. Chapter four, Migrations during War and Depression focused mainly on forced migrations. This chapter dealt with the fact that after World War I, people were forced out of their homes. There was a new concept that was emerging and becoming increasing popular, the concept of nationalization. People wanted their country to consist only of the people of that origin. They wanted the un mixing of people which led to widespread involuntary mass migration. There were such places that were open to new immigrants such as the Soviet Union, but places like Germany and France for example wanted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hitler and the Nazis were able to round up thousands of Jews and ship them off without them fighting back. I assume it was a similar tactic. It seems similar to today when government officials try to crack down on illegal immigration by rounding up the undocumented immigrants and deporting them. I do not even know if they try to send them back to the country they came from or just send them to Mexico. If the person is not even from Mexico the whole situation would be even more disconcerting. Chapter five, The Aftermath of War and Decolonization was basically a conclusion to the entire book and an explanation of what happened in terms of migration after World War II. Hoerder stated that after World War II ended, two major migrations took place. First, the migrations of refugees, prisoners of war, forced laborers, and soldiers. The second migration involved laborers to rebuild the destroyed countries of Europe. Those who were forced to move or flee during the war wanted to go back home, the problem was, many of their homes were destroyed. People needed to rebuild their communities so their life could resume. Families moved together but heartbreakingly many of those families were female led because fathers and husbands were killed in the war. This chapter was bitter sweet. It was good that the country was rebuilding after the disaster left by World War II and that families could return; the heartbreaking part was that the families were returning missing ... • 26. The Importance Of Family Dynamics Over the last 50 years, the meaning of family has changed and people of today s world struggle to define family. Henslin et al (2014), defines family as two or more people who consider themselves related by blood, marriage or adoption (p. 428). Due to the changes, this has also had an impact on family dynamics, which is now seen as complex. FamilyDynamics has been defined as the patterns of relating, or interactions, between family members (Psychologytoday.com, healthychildren.org 2017). These concepts are everlasting; therefore, they develop as society does. Family dynamics are ever changing by improving or disadvantaging today s community. The family has changed in multiple ways from 50 years ago such as the roles of members of the family and the structure of families. The difference between families then and now is more prominent in the modern Australian society. The roles of parents and children have changed such as who is the leader, caretaker, provider. 50 years ago, the father was the dominant one in the family (Henslin 2014 p. 429 Brandth, B, Halrynjo, S Kvande, E 2017). Traditionally the father would be the one who would support the family financially. And the women s role would be to do the housework, take care of the kids and cook (Henslin 2014 p. 432 Brandth, B, Halrynjo, S Kvande, E 2017). Traffic is a major issue for 21st century cities, it is hurting our economy and our environment. One solution to this is a major issue is to invest in public transportation and encourage more people to ride public transportation. I am calling for the Federal Transportation Administration, state, and local governments to invest more in public transportation and spread the awareness of public transportation. Public transportation is beneficial to our communities by providing a solution to traffic and the havoc it causes on our lives. Public transportation can carry way more people per hour at full capacity than the typical single commuter car. Freeways with cars that carry on average 1.2 persons per car in medium traffic (around 30 mph) will only carry 1,080 people per hour. At max, a freeway can carry 1,800 cars per hour and that only results in 5,400 passengers per hour if there were 3 passengers per car. In my life, I ve loved them all (The Beatles, In My Life). Us humans spend our time in the world as voyagers on an endless journey. Our curiosity propels us into new, exhilarating situations that result in more mistakes, more mishaps, and more memories as a result of it. Without these mementos that are tucked away in our minds, who would we be? What would become of us? It is these moments in life, whether pleasurable or painful, that mold us into the individuals we are. Cognitive dissonance can formally be defined as feeling of discomfort resulting from inconsistent attitudes, thoughts and behaviors, ( Communication 90). We will have a feeling of discomfort if new informations doesn t fit with what we already know and we will take many steps to reduce it ( Communication 90). We do this mainly because we seek psychological consistencies and that feeling of discomfort can lead us to changing our attitudes and behaviors ( Communication 93). For example, when we try and keep dissonance from happening we will either ignore the different views that are presented, change either our views or the other person s views depending on the situation, or trying to reassure ourselves after making a big decision ( Communication 92). Dissonance also comes in different forms of impact. We will take into account how severe the situation is before making a final decision, or the magnitude of the situation ( Communication 94). The magnitude is how much dissonance is felt ( Communication 94). We take the account of magnitude in by looking at importance, ratio, and rationale of the situation ( Communication 94 95). Importance is how significant we see the situation to be (95). The last two parts are ratio, the dissonant cognitions compared to the consonant cognitions, and rationale which is what we decide the reason behind the dissonance is ( Communication 95). With the cognitive dissonance theory there are different ways in which we can perceive information and that help us reduce dissonance ( Communication 96). The four perception types are selective exposure, selective attention, selective interpretation, and selective retention ( Communication 96). The first perception is selective exposure which can be defined as looking at the information the we want to ( Communication 96). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Morality And The Moral Theories Meaning of the phrases пїЅthe ends justifies the means The phrase пїЅthe ends justifies the means is a very popular in many fields and is also used in our day to day living. However, it is more used when talking about morality issues whereby it means that the morality of an action or behavior depends entirely on the result of that action and not the behavior or action itself. This is phrase that can be viewed different by proponent of different moral theories. A consequentialist theorist will agree with this phrase. For example, if one tells a lie to save the other person from grief, the action of telling the eye is viewed as good. Another example is whereby a person kills the other in order to save the others. The two actions though they may be viewed as going against the moral values in the society will be viewed as right because they lead to positive results, meaning that the ends justifies the means. In overall, what it means is that it does not matter the means used to achieve certain goals regardless of how bad or violent they may be. On the other hand, a deontologist would hold the killing as wrong regardless as to whether the results are positive or negative. This means that there are actions or behaviors that are wrong no matter what. For example, like in the above examples, regardless of whether lying saves another person grief or killing a person saves other people lives, those two actions are wrong regardless of their positive results (Waller, 2005). • 45. A Two-Decade Crusade The author, Robert O Harrow Jr., wrote A Two Decade Crusade by Conservative Charities Fueled Trump s Exit from Paris Climate Accord , an article for The Washington Post. His reason was to inform the public on a person who had influence on President Trump s decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord. The facts of this article is that a man named Myron Ebell was the leader of a foundation that persuaded Trump to pull out of the Accord. For nearly two decades, he worked for the Cooler Heads Coalition, a group centered around the purpose to put doubt into people s minds about the dangers of global warming. From coal and oil companies, the group received $11 million in donations. Edell and several other members of the coalition were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This article, coming from a relatively liberal news source, is mildly slanted. The audience of the article would be those who are liberal as it informs the reader of what the people were like that influenced Trump in his decisions. Concerning Trump, liberals tend to care more about who takes a part in his decisions and actions and this is more fitted to their needs. While lacking extreme bias, this article has spin. One example from the article is when while the Competitive Enterprise Institute was working to save the jobs here in America by keeping the coal mining industry, the group was also given $11 million in donations. After a disaster in 2010 resulting in the death of 29 miners, it is should not be a surprise that Ebell continued to work for companies that supported jobs in the coal industry. He was working for a company that was being given millions in donations by companies whose jobs were at risk during Obama s attempt to rid the United States of its coal industry. There are no stated opinions in the article since this article was mostly factual. There was bias in this article, specifically geared more towards liberals and showing a lot of negatives about the kinds of groups he has previously worked for and the companies and ideas he has strived for, a lot of which liberals are against. Robert O Harrow Jr is a reliable author and his work can be trusted. His main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Difference Between Goodwill And Impairment Introduction Goodwill and impairment is very well related in accounting concept, impairment is a concept in accounting that explains stable reduction in value of asset (Dauang ploy,O.,Shelton,M., Omer,K.,2005). To calculate impairment loss it is essential to de cide the amount of value in use, and this involve the calculation of the cash flows which are supposed to be produced from the use of assets. Goodwill can only be recognised when it is obtain in business combination. Impairment Impairment is a concept in accounting that explains stable reduction in value of asset. Total profit and cash flow are expected to be produce by certain asset which is occa sionally contrasted with book value. If the book value is more than cash flow of the asset, the remaining amount should be written off and the value should be rejected from the balance sheet (Dauangploy,O.,et. al.,2005). If the carrying amount is more than recoverable amount, it can indicate the loss of impairment. Then the recover able amounts need to be written down. There are two different models to recognise impairment, cost model and revaluation model. Impairment loss in cost model can be recognised directly in profit or loss. In revaluation model asset is measured in its fair value and impairment loss is recognised as descending revaluation. Though, some assets don t produce cash flow by itself. This is the reason why the cash flow is increasing due to the combination of few assets together. In other word, car used by sales person does not produce cash flow by itself (Sun,L., Zhang,J.,2017). • 48. Virtue In Hamlet This quote, in the literal sense, begs for one to be true to one s self, as someone who is not true to himself is false. This sentiment expressed by Polonius becomes seemingly incongruous with the events and judgments made throughout the play, as the theme of deceit reigns over that of virtue. While the play progresses, the characters demonstrate a growing struggle for virtueand lose the power to be true to their own selves, thus compromising their abilities to uphold justice. As actualities regarding King Hamlets death become apparent, either truthfulness and virtue, or the ability to maintain justice is compromised. This concept is especially present in considering Hamlet s pursuit of revenge for his father s death. His erratic and ineffective... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the play, granted his pensive and emotional nature, Hamlet does eventually evolve due to much moral and virtuous growth, and while he never reaches the standards of a prince qualified to oversee a nation, he does outgrow the role of the politically subordinate fawner. Internal growth occurred when Hamlet finally learned to differentiate between his true self in relation to his perception of self. His initial fits of madness and antic dispositions made this differentiation vaguer, as these episodes had called into question his mental stability. When presented on a public platform, Hamlet s stability seemed to be deteriorating; however, in reviewing his introspective side, its clear that he feels great pain due to his father s death, as demonstrated by his constant contemplation surrounding how he can best handle the situation. It is when Hamlet discovers his sense of self that he develops a sense of virtue that begins to allow him to exhibit both characteristics of integrity and justice; however, it is not until the accidental murder of his mother that Hamlet develops the motivation of social justice in conjunction with virtue. This being said, the struggle for a balance of justice and virtue does not occur until Hamlet feels that he has contributed to upholding social justice by convicting those responsible for their crimes. This notion of imbalance is especially present in Hamlet s plan to get revenge for his father s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
