2. Photojournalism
Photojournalism is a particular form of
journalism that creates images in order to
tell a news story.
Photojournalism is distinguished from other
close branches of photography such as:
documentary photography, street
photography, celebrity photography and
social documentary photography.
The beginning of modern photojournalism
took place in 1925, in Germany.
It has changed over the years because the
technology has evolved over time. The
photos use to be made up from film, but
now we use cameras to capture the
picture. Because the technology has

Because the clothes are
shown on models, it
influences people to buy
the latest fashion as they
would want to look as
good as the models.

Fashion
Photography
Fashion photography has been existent since the early days of
photography. In 1856 Adolphe Braun, published a book
containing 288 photographs of Virginia Oldoni, Countess di
Castiglione, a Tuscan noblewoman at the court of Napoleon lll.
The photos depict official court garb, making her the first fashion
model.
In the first decade of the 20th century, advances in halftone
printing allowed fashion photographs to be featured in
magazines. Fashion photography made its first appearance in
French magazines such as La mode practique. In 1909, Condé

Photography
Advertising photography refers to
the art of taking pictures that are
used to create awareness of a
particular product or service for
the public. The photographers
are mostly used by advertising
agencies and market product.
The technology has changed and
views have changed. For example
we can not advertise cigarettes
like they use to be able to
because its not condoned.
Advertising photography came
around in the 19th century.

Art
Photography
The production of images to fulfill the creative
vision of photographer. Synonymous with art
photography.
Fine art has been around since the 17th century.
It has evolved throughout the years because
technology, fashion and taste has changed.
