Establishing a Civil Society Support Mechanism with PAP, the NEPAD and the APRM page 6 of 55 This study was jointly commissioned by the Southern Africa Trust and an advisory group of organisations that include TrustAfrica, ActionAid, Oxfam GB, Centre for Policy Studies (CPS), Southern African Regional Poverty Network (SARPN), the Electoral Insti- tute of Southern Africa (EISA), the African Monitor and the African Forum and Network on Debt and Develop- ment (AFRODAD). On 26 September 2006, these organisations met and held preliminary discussions around setting up an independent mechanism for civil society organisations to inter- face with the secretariats of the inter- governmental institutions of the Afri- can Union (AU) that are located in Midrand, South Africa: the New Part- nership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and the Pan Afri- can Parliament (PAP). Although this study is limited to these three institu- tions, there is reference to other bod- ies and institutions of the AU, such as the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), the Economic, Social and Cul- tural Council (ECOSOCC), the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR) and the Peace and Security Council (PSC).

As a faculty he has been facilitating for the Graduate and Professional training program in the areas of Product Development, TQM, HRM, Quality Management System (ISO9001:2008), Productivity and Competitiveness, Project Management with MS Project-2007 and Industrial Safety Management . He also worked as adjunct faculty at DIU, BOU. IBAISU, BUBT, BUET, IPM, DIPTI and Planning Academy. Prior this job he worked as a Assistant Engineer of Jamuna Fertilizer Company, Bangladesh for around seven years (31 May,1997-15 February,2004).He also obtained doctor degree at Kitami Institute of Technology, on 18 March ,2013.

includes holding various positions in the Banking Industry, Teaching, Public sector, Private
and CSOs. He has worked for five years as teacher at Makongo High School, three years as a
credit officer at CRDB Bank Ltd, Five years as a researcher and a consultant at Daima
Associates Ltd, 6 year as a research fellow at the Economic and Social Research Foundation
(ESRF). Furthermore, his experiences include; working as a senior economist in the
Government of Tanzania - Ministry of Infrastructure Development-Tanzania Civil Aviation
Authority, and also as a Business and Marketing advisor for Millennium College. He also
worked as guest researcher at the Christian Michelson Institute (CMI) in Norway, Botswana
Institute of Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) in Gaborone- Botswana and IPAR in
Nairobi in Kenya. His fields of specialization include; Research in socio-economic issues,
Capacity building in Policy analysis, research, Monitoring and Evaluations, macroeconomic
