Paperclip

Writing Exercise
 If you started with a red paper clip, what would you
do? You can either write about trading up to
something else or do something completely different
with it (maybe you would use the red paper clip to
help you on some kind of invention, for example).
 You have 20 minutes to write. 1 page minimum.
How to Win the ACT:

         A Strategy Guide
Problem #1: I can’t get to all the questions
in time.
 Answer easy questions first. Star the hard ones on
your answer sheet and come back to them if you
    have time.
 Know roughly how much time you have on each
question/section and don’t let yourself get bogged
    down on any one question.
 If you find yourself running out of time, be sure to
bubble in all the answers. Just choose a straight line
and go down the answer sheet…then you will have a
1 in 4 (or 1 in 5 on the math) chance of getting the
    question right.
Problem #2: I feel like I’m bad at multiple
choice tests.
 Keep in mind that the right answer is in front of you.
 Use process of elimination.
 Try plugging different answers into the question.
 If you have absolutely no idea, guess. I know I’ve
said this before, but I’m going to keep saying it until
    everyone does it.
Problem #3: I have test anxiety.
 Don’t cram the night before. It will do more harm
than good. Do something fun instead.
 Get a good night’s sleep.
 Be confident. Repeat encouraging phrases. Having
a good mental outlook makes a huge difference.
 Make sure you’re prepared the night before the test
(know where your calculator, ID, and admission
    ticket are).
 Any other tips for stress relief?
