 Nursery business based on sugarcane seedlings helps
farmers and industry.
 About 50 nurseries operating in Maharashtra alone.
 Technology also being used in Terai region of Nepal.
 A family having 2000 sq m land and a small well can have
annual turnover of Rs.15 lac, providing planting material to
100 ha.
 Farmers using seedlings as planting material obtain about
20% additional yield compared to the traditional method of
planting.
 Increased availability of cane to the industry.
