End Point Assessment (EPA) is the final assessment for an apprentice to ensure that they can do the job they have been training for. EPA is separate to any qualifications or other assessment that the apprentice may undertake during the on‑programme stage of the apprenticeship.

The new end-point assessment (EPA) is one continual assessment, designed
to test whether each apprentice has gained the skills and knowledge outlined
in the apprenticeship standard and grade each learner in line with their
performance.
An end-point assessment might involve all or some of the following testing
methods; Multiple choice tests, Evidence portfolio / Showcase, Observed
practical skills tests, Professional discussion with independent assessor,
Workplace projects or CPD interviews.
