Draw-wire displacement sensors are used to measure vibration displacement in road tests of cars. The sensors can withstand the demanding conditions of road tests and are mounted parallel to shock absorbers. They measure displacement up to 50 mm with 0.1 mm resolution and 0.2 mm accuracy at frequencies up to 100 Hz. The sensors operate in air between -10°C and +40°C without interference. They were selected for these applications due to their high accuracy, resolution, rugged design, and ease of use.
