Advanced Product Designs (APD) was founded in 1998 and has over 20 years of experience in product design and tool design. APD works primarily with medical device companies, providing services such as concept development, 3D CAD modeling, rendering, 3D printing of prototypes, and tooling design. APD's founder has an engineering background and the company has capabilities across the entire product design and development process.

Advanced Product Designs (APD) was founded in
1998. The founder has been involved in
product design for over 20 years in various roles
from R&D engineer to Technical Director.
APD has extensive experience in tool design and
project management.
APD has been involved in a wide range of
projects over the years. Currently 90% of the busi-
ness deals with Medical Device companies and
projects.
In addition to our current services APD also offers
concept and industrial design services.

3. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Detailed Sketches
Large amounts of concept development is carried out with
detailed sketches focusing on key points and features of
the product.
Digital Drawings
Digital drawings are great for presentations or illustrations
as they can show important characteristics of the product
at an early stage of development.
Story Boards
Story boards show the operation or process of the
product through a series of step by step illustrations.

4. 3D CAD & RENDERING
2D Drawings
Detailed 2D engineering drawings linked to the 3D CAD files
can be developed to fully define your product components and
assemblies. We can use your company sheet formats or de-
velop custom formats to suit your needs.
3D Models
We can transform concept sketches or ideas into fully
parametric virtual CAD models giving you a much greater feel
and understanding of the products shape and form. We can also
create a CAD surface file using the Master CAD technique.
Photo Realistic Renders
With our new render development package we can
create realistic images with 3D models.This makes it
possible to illustrate material characteristics like plastics and
metals in greater detail, giving you a better
representation of the final product before it is produced.

5. 3D PRINTING & PROTOTYPING
3D Printing
This is where we turn the concepts and virtual models
into real physical 3D prototypes using our in-house 3D
prototyping equipment. These prototypes can be used as
marketing tools for tactile product feel, block models dur-
ing concept selection and for functional prototyping.
Tooling Design and Manufacturing
We have in-house mould design and manufacturing ex-
perience so we can ensure the final product is designed
correctly for moulding & manufacture. We can also build
prototype tooling in Asia in short time lines to get you the
initial moulded parts for testing and first product
manufacture. We also have many top quality vendors
we can sub-contract or source for you depending on the
product requirements.
