MOA
It acts by inhibiting microtubule synthesis
It bind with parasite β-tubulin & inhibit its
polymerisation
Mebendazole blocks the glucose uptake in parasite &
deplets its glycogen store

Cause diarrhoea
Abdominal Pain
Sometimes Lower platelet count
Uses –
Used in the treatment of roundworm,
hookworm, threadworm

microfilarial promoting cell death
Diethylcarbamazine (DEC) is a medication
used in the treatment
of filariasis including lymphatic filariasis,

Itching,facial swelling,
headache and feeling tired
Other side effects :
Vision loss
Dizziness
USES :
filarial diseases, including lymphatic
filariasis caused by infection with Wuchereria
bancrofti, Brugia malayi, or Brugia timori;
tropical pulmonary eosinophilia; and loiasis.
