Annotated Bibliography
Week 16, Finals Week , Friday midnight
Points: 170 pts. (10 pts. rough draft)
Use your thesis statement developed during Weeks 5-6, and the research you’ve completed thus
far for this assignment.
This is submitted as a formal Word document, formatted 1” margins, 12 pt. type with MLA
formatted citations for the sources below.
1. Title: give your Bibliography a title related to your thesis statement. Should
be centered at top of first page.
2. Thesis Statement:
3. Formatting: 1” margin all four sides, Times Roman Type [this is the standard
MLA formatting]. Double spacing for citations; single spacing for annotations.
4. Sources: Your bibliography should include one of each type of source below
for a total of nine sources.
Two Reference works (print or online) these are dictionaries, encyclopedias, or other
reference sources that provide overviews of subjects or disciplines [Gale Virtual Reference
Library will provide sources for this part of the bibliography, as well as the RHC online catalog]
Two Books related to the topic from the Rio Hondo College Library catalog, or another online
catalog [Whittier Public, or CSULA]
Three Articles from RHC subscription databases: Include one each of:
newspaper, magazine, and scholarly journal
Two Web sites: use web site criteria, including suffixes [.com, .gov, .edu, etc]
NOTE: These source types are required for the project. You must include all source types
specified above to get full credit. [you can't simply use all books, all articles etc., in place of the
types specified above, or copy over another works cited page from a paper for another course]
d. Annotations: You should provide annotations for four sources. Write a
descriptive summary and an analytical paragraph. [150 words total for each annotation]
