The author of this article features the origin of the Hopi Native American tribe as well as the different activities and cultures that the tribe used to engage in. According to the author, the Hopi people were living in Arizona before the British colonized the US. The native tribe of Hopi is the descendants of Ancient Pueblo. The author further states that that the name Hopi is the short name of Autonym which is further translated to mean the peaceful people or the peaceful little ones. Hence the Hopi people from their name were considered as civilized, polite, peaceful, and mannered people. According to the author, this was so because the Hopi people loved peace, unlike the other tribes that provoked and took part in the battle. The author also features how the Hopi people were organized into matrilineal clans. In the case a man got married, the children could belong to the wife's clan, and this made the clans extend far and wide across villages. Any child naming could be done by the women from the husband's clan something that brought around great peace and unity among the members of different clans. The Hopi tribe further unity among themselves by giving their children gifts during special occasions. According to the author; the Uto-Aztecan language is the one that is used by the Hopi people use. The author states that approximately 5,000 people use this language. However, over the years the years due to factors like intermarriages and immigration; the language has continued getting erased with the English language taking over. Importantly, the author states that the Uto-Aztecan language continues being passed from one generation to the next. Language is a paramount aspect of any communicates as it helps in defining and elaborating the different ways that the people of that community communicate. It is for this reason that this source is of importance. The latter is in the sense that the language that the Hopi tribe uses shall help in creating a clearer picture of who they are and what they represent in the US community.
