For example, using monkeys to study SARS virus helped us to analyze the structure and pathology of the virus, and taking dead pandas for experiments can help us to better understand them, to better protect them. Experimenting on frogs can help us find out the effects of harmful gases in the Earth's atmosphere on amphibians, which is a warning to us. Experiments on flies inspired us to build flying machines, and research on bats led to the creation of ultrasonic positioning devices. Mice helped us create artificial organs, and so on. The Japanese used rats to cultivate the plague virus to kill the Chinese, and the US created cockroach spies to fight the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War, using animals that had no intention of harming humans as tools of war. For animals, they also have nerves and even emotions, and it is inhumane to kill them casually. But sometimes humans have to sacrifice animals to help them heal.

While I tend towards the viewpoint that animal testing is morally wrong, I would have to support a limitedamount of animal experimentationfor the development of medicines. On the one hand, there are clear ethical arguments against animal experimentation. To use a common exampleof this practice, laboratory mice may be givenan illness so that the effectiveness of a new drug can be measured. Opponents of such research argue that humans have no right to subject animals to this kind of trauma, and that the lives of all creatures shouldbe respected. They believe that the benefits to humans do not justify the suffering caused, and that scientists should use alternative methods of research. On the other hand, reliablealternatives to animal experimentation may not always be available.Supporters of the use of animals in medical research believethat a certain amount of suffering on the part of mice or rats can be justifiedif human lives are saved. They argue that opponents of such research might feel differently if a member of their own families needed a medical treatment that had been developedthrough the use of animal experimentation. Personally,I agree with the banning of animal testing for non- medical products, but I feel that it may be a necessary evil where new drugs and medical procedures are concerned. In conclusion, it seems to me that it would be wrong to ban testing on animals for vital medical research until equally effective alternatives have been developed.

Even the white ink on an M&M has been tested on anim als. To some, this statement may be alarming and even disturbing – to others it may not mean much at all. Either way, the debate over animal testing has gained much popularity i n recent decades. Animal testing has been done since at least 500 BC; even Aristotle experimented on animals for scientific re asoning. Around 200 AD, dissecting animals in public was actually used as a form of entertainment, people wo uld actually go and watch someone perform a vivisection on an animal. It is cruel and inhumane to put animals through so much agony, they can feel pain and suffering too, just like h umans; they just cannot speak to stand up for themselves. Recently, a monkey was photographed saving a puppy from a tsunami in Japan. The image just proved how much the monkey cared and knew what was happening,and knew that he e had to save the puppy and get away. Animals are smarter than most people think - they feel love, fear, and pain. Many religious traditions say that people should care for animals, treat them with respect, and try not to cause them harm or suffering .

Even though ani mal testing is responsible for many medical breakt hroughs, some of those breakthroughs could have been made without testing them on animals. The drugs that pass animal testing and get put on the market are not always safe (Scott). There was a dr ug called Vioxx that was proven to help mice and protect their heart, but when humans started using the drug, it caused thousands of heart attacks, m any resulting in death. According to Dr. Furlong, “ 94% of drugs that pass animal tests fail in human clinical trials”. That is an astonishingly high numb er. If the results are so inaccurate, then what is the purpose of even testing on the animal.

This is because rabbit corneas can regenerate below the eyes, whereas human corneas can onl y regenerate on the surface. Smoking has been considered safe for decades because experimental studies have found that smoki ng related cancers in humans are difficult to replicate in animals.Believing that cigarettes are harmle ss, people continue to light cigarettes and eventually die of cancer. A chemical that causes cancer in rats and mice. It was later found to reduce the size of some cancer s in humans, and the effect proved ineffective years later. The treatment of arthritis with sodium zometate, fluroxone and opren caused serious adverse reaction s and even death in humans, none of which occurred in dogs, monkeys and mice.

They c ontinue to control various factors, such as concentration and frequency of use, in an atte mpt to make comparisons between animals and humans, and this comparability does not exist. Even if they succeed, what does it mean? Absolutely nothing. The really useful inform ation is found through observation and Research on people. Animal experiments are also dangerous for those who work in animal laboratories.Laborat ory workers may inadvertently come into contact with the body fluids of infected animals and injectable harmful substances, and sometimes even cause death. In multiple cases, there were experiments in which the subjects had an impact on the subjects, the environment, and the biosphere, such that the destruction of the environment, the disruption of the ecological balance, and the harm caused to people is immeasurable, not to mention the viruses that were triggered, were very destructive. Therefore, we believe that we should minimize the number of animal experiments, which will be the most helpful to the environment, animals and humans.
