I obtained my experience at;
a) The Ministry of Industry and Trade, (NSSF-Waterfront, DSM) when I was working
as Assistant Marketing Officer in Department of Trade and Marketing (DTM). This
was during my Bachelor’s Degree Practical Training Program in 2011 (field work),
that took place from 15th
Aug-12th
Dec, 2011.
b) Dubai - (United Arab Emirates) where I went for a 4-day Learning trip and Business
Exposure, courtesy of TSN Supermarket Ltd. That was from 28th
November to 1st
December, 2014.
c) TSN Supermarket Ltd., where I’m currently employed, designated as Trainee
Manager since December, 2013.
The purpose of the Trainee Manager’s position at TSN Supermarket Ltd; includes (and
isn’t limited to) the following;
i) Meeting and exceeding customer’s needs and expectations;
ii) Development and management of motivation, empowerment and customer
centric staff; and
iii) The development and continuous review of the business plan.
The above has well contributed a lot to my professional experience through the functional
skills outlined in it.
Functional skills (main areas of responsibilities) amidst working at TSN Supermarket
Ltd as a Trainee Manager have equipped me with the below professional experience.
One is by being responsible in achieving the company’s expectations by
ensuring all operational requirements are being met. Continuously improving
the shop operational functions and developing on an on-going basis.
Second, maintaining good relationship with customers, suppliers and other
external parts at all time and emphasizing first-class customer care
throughout the branch.
Third, finding solutions on operational problems and escalating them to the
branch manager or higher level if necessary when required.
Next, ensuring that ordering is done on time and that shelves are well stocked
with the accurate PI labels, reports (in writing) all near to expire items one
month prior to their expiring date for markdown purposes and ensuring that
there’s no expired items/products in the branch.
Another crucial work is controlling all cash movement within the branch and
ensuring all cash/transactions done without direct payment, buying procedures
are followed and necessary signed documentations are available.

Moreover, ensuring physical cash and system report tally at all time; at the
same time ensuring that deposits are done every day at specified financial
institutions.
Besides, follow up on employee scheduling at all level including security
department and making sure weekly employee schedules are displayed at all
time.
Furthermore, making sure the shop is clean and maintaining food safety and
hygiene.
Last experience – though not least is, in collaboration with HR department;-
translate and ensure adherence to company rules and regulations and enforce
compliance and discipline to all employees.
