Electricity is measured in kilowatt hours (kWh) and costs $0.09/kWh for the first 3000 kWh and $0.08/kWh after that in the Montrose and Delta districts. Electricity travels to homes through power lines and can be generated through static charges, direct current, or alternating current. While the Greeks discovered static electricity 2000 years ago, Thomas Edison helped develop it further. Electricity is formed by the flow of electrons and protons, and homes can be kept safe by keeping kids and pets away from outlets and not using water during storms.
