1. Andalusian relief
● There are three important units in
our relief
● These three units are:
- Sierra Morena: It separates the
central plateau from Andalusia. It is
very old
-The depression of Guadalquivir: It is
also divided in three areas:
Fertile plain ,countryside(wavy forms ,
campiña) and marshes
-Betic Systems occupies near two
thirds of the surface of Andalusia
and it is divided in three part;
Subbetic systems in the North and
Pennibetic Mountain range in the
South . They are separated by
“depresión intrabética”

2. Climate
● There are four types of Mediterranean climate
● Subtropical climate;scarce rainfall and warm temperature
● Semi-arid; without rainfalls
● Oceanic influence; a lot of rainfalls over 600 mm
● Continental ;it is located in the interior of Andalusia. Its summers are
very hot and its winters are very cold.

3. Rivers
● There are two watersheds:
● Atlantic watershed: Irregular regime, numerous
tributaries .Guadalquivir is the longest
● Mediterranean watershed; short and irregular
regime and they have got sharp slopes

4. Vegetation
● Mediterranean forest ; holm oak and cork oak,chestnut trees or
strawberry trees
● Maquia; Dense bushes coscoja and juniper
● Garriga; less dense than maquia , thyme, lavander, broom
● Espartizal; esparto grass, palmetto ,
●
Others ; poplars, dehesas, bank forests and the Spanish fir
