Group presentations are assigned cases to analyze, identify problems, and recommend solutions for a company. Teams must present their analysis in 30 minutes, including a Q&A session. Teams must divide tasks among members like introducing the case, identifying the main problem and its impact, explaining causes, recommending solutions, proposing a communication strategy, and concluding. Teams must submit a presentation plan to their instructor before presenting and will be evaluated on identifying the main problem, explaining causes, recommending solutions, designing an effective communication strategy, and answering audience questions. All participants must read the case individually and submit a completed case analysis form before discussions.
1. Analyzing a Case
Case analysis presentations are group presentations. Each group of participants is assigned a case and is
asked to analyze the case by identifying problems and recommending solutions. The case solution has to
include a proposed communication strategy for the company or the main character in the case. The
following sections cover instructions for presenting teams and for the rest of the participants.
Instructions for all participants (including the presenting team):
All participants are required to read the case individually and fill out the case analysis form. The filled in
form should be emailed to the instructor one day before the case discussion session.
After the case analysis presentation by the designated team, there will be a Q & A session in which all
participants in the audience will be allowed to ask questions from the presenters.
During the case analysis presentation, the participants are advised to listen carefully and take notes so
as to participate in the open discussion/Q & A after the presentation.
Instructions for the presenting team:
The team selected for presentation of a case analysis is required to take the following steps in preparing
the case analysis presentation:
The team is required to present its analysis of the assigned case before the class on a designated date.
The team leader should prepare a presentation plan and communication this to the resource person.
This plan should identify the division of the following presentation tasks among team members:
1. Case and Team Introduction
2. The main problem faced by the company/individual and its impact
3. The reasons/causes of the problem
4. Recommended solution (including answers to given case study questions)
5. Communication strategy
6. Conclusion and audience questions
This plan must be communicated to the resource person one day before the case analysis presentation.
The case analysis presentation should be completed in 30 minutes including the Q & A session.
The following plan will be used to evaluate the case analysis presentation:
1. Identification of the main problem and its impact (Did the participant identify the main problem faced
by the company/individual and determine its impact on the company/individual?) (10 marks)
2. 2. Identification of reasons/causes for the problems (Did the participant identify the reasons for the
problems faced by the company/individual?) (20 marks)
3. Recommended solution (Did the participant/team propose and justify/defend a proper solution to the
problem? (10 marks)
4. Communication strategy (Did the participant/team design an effective communication strategy for
the company/individual?) (40 marks)
