Analysis of rock n’ roll in photo's
1.
2. This documentary was mixed as it included,
interviews, voice over and a lot of archive
material as the documentary was about
pictures that were taken by a photographer
Bob Gruen
3. The themes included in this documentary
were: Photography, Rock & Roll, and the way
music industry was captured in pictures
Narrative Structure is Closed, Non-linear,
Single Strand, it is closed, Non- linear as the
interviews were done at different times so
were non-chronolgical.And single strand as it
only really followed the area of rock & roll in
pictures.
4. The main shots used were close ups and
medium close ups of the interviews,
interviews were filmed with a multiple
camera setup and panning and zoom were
used on the pictures to make it more
interesting.
Editing, a lot of stills in which the zoom is
used, the digitalization of images has been
used and white flashing was used to help
make the images more intresting.
5. Each of the interviews were filmed with the
background having some relevance to the
interviewee, such as when Bob Gruen is being
interviewed in front of a mic on a stage. And
also for one a man was in a bar and the man
was positioned in front of a window, and you
could see peoples feet walking by.
6. There was a rock song in the background so
to keep it in fitting with the theme the music
was continues music throughout the
documentary, there was no voice over
throughout the documentary. There was also
a sound of a camera flash
7. There was much achieve material in this
documentary as it was based around the
achieve material of a photographer Bob
Gruen.
