Front Cover Analysis

2. Masthead
The masthead is very
bright, drawing the
audiences attention to
it. The gray writing ties
it in to the rest of the
page.

3. Main Image
The main image is a
medium close-up shot
of the model wearing
normal clothes to
reflect what a college
student wears. She is
smiling to show she
enjoys college.

4. Puff
The puff is bright red to
attract the audiences
attention, which also
makes the black text
stand out. The puff is an
offer to try and attract
readers through
persuasion.

5. Cover Stories
The cover stories are to
give the audience an
idea of what else is in
the magazine. The red
ones are more detailed
around what a college
student may be
interested in and are on
a red background to
make them stand out
more due to this.

6. How This Has Affected My
Research
This has affected my research by
showing my the different aspects
of the magazine cover, and the
affects on the audience. It has
also shown me how using
different background colours can
highlight parts of the cover.
