Literary translation in the 21th century
Literary translation in the 21st century involves translating works of literature like novels, poems, stories and plays between languages. While translation has a long history, it developed and improved in the 21st century due to technological advances. Some examples of novels translated to English this century include "The Cave" by Sarah Moghahed, "My Name is Red" by Orhan Pamuk, and "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. While translation aims for accuracy, in the 21st century the search for structural identity is illusory and meaning is the most important aspect of literary translation.

What words are used to describe Grendel? What connotations do these words give to the reader? What motivates Grendel to attack and terrorize Heorot? How is Grendel alienated from the Germanic warrior society, and what kind of threat does he pose to this society? Do we, as readers, feel satisfied by Beowulf's slaying of Grendel?

· I also expect you to quote from the text. When you do so, please use proper quotation and citation adhering to MLA style with the line # in parentheses and a / to indicate a line break. For example:

Literary translation in the 21th century
Literary translation in the 21st century involves translating works of literature like novels, poems, stories and plays between languages. While translation has a long history, it developed and improved in the 21st century due to technological advances. Some examples of novels translated to English this century include "The Cave" by Sarah Moghahed, "My Name is Red" by Orhan Pamuk, and "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. While translation aims for accuracy, in the 21st century the search for structural identity is illusory and meaning is the most important aspect of literary translation.
