Lao Tzu founded Taoism after leaving his job in the Chinese emperor's library. He wrote the Tao Te Ching, which explained his philosophy of wu-wei or going with the flow of life. Taoism teaches that everything shares a life force made of the complementary opposites of yin and yang. Today, about 5 million people practice Taoism in parts of China, Japan, and other Asian countries.

• Taoism was begun by a man called Lao Tzu.
• He worked in the Chinese emperors library.
• He thought that you should just go with the
flow.
• This idea was called
Wu–Wai
3. His book
• He left his job and rode on a Ox to a
mountain pass. The Guardian asked him to
write his teachings so he wrote a book about
them called Doodejing.

•He also thought that everything alive in the universe
( plants , animals people ) shared the life – force .
•The symbol shows the two different sides of the life
force.
•The yin the dark side is the side of women, the
moon, things that are still like ponds and completion
and death. The yang the light side is the side of men,
the sun, things that move like rivers , dragons and
creations of birth.
• Toaday taoisom is practiced by about five million
people in China, Japan Malaysia , Hong Kong ,Taiwan
and Vietnam
