This document discusses the decay of institutions and neglect of institution builders. It describes the author's experiences transforming schools and non-profits by empowering teachers and staff, but having to leave when faced with political pressures or a lack of support. The author reflects on how founders built great institutions to serve the masses, but over generations the spirit was lost as newer administrators lacked the same commitments. One longtime staff member who worked diligently is given as an example of an institution pillar who faced unjust questioning and left silently. The author sees both the decay of institutions and neglect of builders, and hopes corrective actions can be taken before it is too late.
