TEAM 15: API for Analysis and Prediction of Fuel Consumption
Team 15 created an API to predict fuel consumption for vessels based on data from 3 vessels over 1-3 years. The API uses a model trained on 16 features from vessel engine and propulsion system data collected every 10 seconds. Testing on separate data from the vessels showed the model could predict fuel consumption with over 99% accuracy. Visualizations of actual vs predicted fuel consumption were also created. Further work is planned to implement the API in real vessels and optimize the models.
