Profile: Senior Manager [Business Analysis]/Manager –Indirect taxes, Account payables
I have worked in multiple profiles at different locations – Profit centres, Indirect taxes group [central
team]. I have been managing Account Payables/ Receivables & general ledger, monitoring internal
controls and preparing financials including schedule VI [revised] at Bearings div. Kharagpur. While in
Indirect taxes team, I was responsible for monitoring statutory compliances [Excise & Service Tax]
related to Steel plant, Jamshedpur and ensuring proper communication and implementation of all
amendments applicable to the company.
As Senior Manager, Business analysis at Tubes division, participated in Business plan formulations –
Annual/Half Yearly revisions/Monthly/Long Term and rigorous monitoring to highlight deviations for timely
action.
Opportunities & Achievements:
Stint at indirect Taxation offered me plethora of opportunities to nurture my professional skills. It
helped me learn effective ways of engaging with external agencies in a mature way so as to
develop long term relations for organisational benefit.
Creating awareness on amendments relating to Indirect Taxation, its impact & compliance across
different functions and locations.
Active engagement in GST journey, preparing presentations for senior management, engaging
with consultants and leading GST discussions at various cross-functional forums.
Penned down articles on GST for “Finance journal” (internal corporate document).
Independently attended team of Excise auditors, addressing their queries and drafting replies &
appeals.
Improvement in internal control systems relating to Account Payables [Reducing the Average
payment cycle from 66 days to 55 days, reducing losses on account of rejected materials].

Knowledge sharing sessions with various departments [Marketing, supply chain etc.] to understand
their requirements and strategize on solutions to address challenges faced at both ends.
Special efforts to educate users across all departments about the relevance of Cenvat Credit
