Dr. Raval is researching the possibility of using stem cells to restore function to cardiac muscle after myocardial infarction. He came to us with the problem of creating a more consistent trial environment for his study. He currently injects the stem cells into animals with a syringe by hand. However, results are not completely reliable due to human variability in injecting a 200uL injection over 30s. Thus he asked us to produce a device that would be able to hold the syringe and catheter that he currently uses and create an injection at a constant pressure to increase cell viability.
