Amber is at her sister Charlie's house worrying about being pregnant. Charlie notices Amber seems distracted and asks what's wrong. Amber avoids the question and leaves. As Amber walks through the woods, she daydreams about telling her boyfriend Luke about the pregnancy. On her way to see him, she almost steps into traffic but Luke calls out to her. Amber is relieved but still hasn't told Luke she's pregnant. She leaves Charlie's feeling cowardly for not telling her sister or Luke the news.

1. ‘AMBER’
INT. DAY – HOUSE
AMBER is staring with a slight worried look on her face,
motionless (after a chaotic few seconds of noises- cars
screeching, babies crying, etc.)
CHARLIE
(muffled, as if under water)
What are you going to do?
AMBER looks up, confused.
CHARLIE
(gestures to Amber’s stomach as she raises her eyebrows)
What’s your plan?
AMBER deliriously looks back down at the mug in her hands.
CHARLIE
(takes a deep breath with pursed lips and a creased forehead)
Tell me you’ve at least told Luke? (pause) Maybe seeing him will
help.
As CHARLIE says the previous line, AMBER hugs her sister, acting
oblivious to her words.
AMBER
(Her head rests to the side on her sister’s chest with her hand
clasping Charlie’s arm)
Thanks Charlie.
AMBER places the mug onto the table, grabs her bag and walks out
of the door, constantly avoiding eye contact with CHARLIE.
EXT. DAY – LAWN/ROAD
AMBER walks deliriously through a wooded area, swinging herself
lazily around trees whilst daydreaming.

2. She looks up with wide eyes and a disappointed expression.
For a moment it’s peaceful, but then she looks back down to
what’s ahead of her; a busy road.
AMBER walks over to the road and takes one step. (just turned
4:08)
LUKE
Hey, Amber!
AMBER looks over, with a confused expression, until she sees
who’s calling her, at which point her expression turns shocked.
AMBER (V.O.)
Luke?
She walks over to him with a worried look on her face and
pretend smile. They hug.
LUKE
I was just coming over to meet you and Charlie.
AMBER (V.O.)
Thank god I left when I did.
A CAR SCREECHES PAST.
LUKE
(looks over, appalled and shaking his head)
What a tosser!
AMBER keeps her eyes on Luke and gets his attention back by
grabbing his arm.
AMBER
Luke, umm...
They can no longer be heard as they are across the road, but
LUKE takes a step back, looking away as Amber nervously squeezes
her torso.
INT. DAY – HOUSE
AMBER is staring at a mug of coffee.

3. CHARLIE
Amber. (pause) What were you going to tell me?
AMBER (V.O.)
You’re going to be an aunt.
AMBER
(takes one last sip midway through)
Oh...you know what? It... it’s not important. See you later.
AMBER rushes over to the door.
CHARLIE
(shifting in her chair with a surprised expression as she
chuckles)
What? You’re going now? Where do you have to be at 4 ‘o’ clock
on a Sunday?
AMBER
(she shakes her head and closes her eyes as she thinks of an
excuse)
I’m seeing Luke. I... just remembered.
She shuts the front door, turning around and leaning against it,
with her head tilted up and breathing heavily, slowly shaking
her head. AMBER then looks to the side worriedly, her body
remaining still.
AMBER (V.O.)
(speaks sarcastically)
Coward! I’m an absolute coward. If I can’t tell my sister, the
person I trust most in this family, how am I going to bloody
well tell my him?
EXT. - DAY – LAWN/ROAD
AMBER walks deliriously through a wooded area, swinging herself
lazily around trees whilst daydreaming.
She looks up with wide eyes, smiling.
INT. - DAY - HOUSE

4. CHARLIE is at her house, washing up and putting away the drinks
they had just had.
EXT. - DAY - ROAD
AMBER arrives at the road, looking dazed but happy. She looks
down to place both hands on her stomach, grinning.
LUKE is in the background in the same place as before but
distracted by someone else.
INT. - DAY - HOUSE
CHARLIE suddenly stops what she’s doing as she picks up the box
of coffee granules that says ‘decaf’ on the front. She looks
confused for a moment, staring out the window. Then, she turns
her head and gasps.
EXT. - DAY - ROAD
The traffic lights change to amber, and AMBER steps out slowly.
(just turned 4:08)
CHARLIE is running along the same route AMBER did with a frantic
expression. She almost catches up.
CHARLIE
(her expression turns from a big grin to a shocked look, waving
her arms)
Amber!
LUKE turns around from who he was talking to.
AMBER quickly turns around, confused as she sees the car coming
towards her.
THE CAR SCREECHES.
